What's the issue with what Cheney is doing? This has always been done.
And let's remind ourselves that MAGA had a whole thing where you filled out a form that you thought was one thing, but actually changed your affiliation.

I have a great deal of distaste for this practice........ voting for the opponent you wish to see? Cuz you figure it helps your preferred candidate's odds?

Nothing like Republicans registering as Democrats to run on our ballots here, right?

it's exactly the same to me. It shouldn't be allowed.
I also know if it was outlawed, many would simply register as Independent and keep doing it anyway

A person shouldn't be allowed to change their opinions or affiliations?
Oh wait.
It's Liz Cheney. You just don't want her to have a chance at re-election because you consider her a heretic and traitor to the cause of overthrowing democracy in America.
Got it!

I'd actually have a bit of respect for her if she simply changed party. At least then there'd be a bit more honesty involved.
But we mustn't have that in politics. People prefer the lies.
Who knew the Cheney name would become so popular with the Left so soon?

You're surprised that people who are willing to admit the truth are valued more highly than liars?
No surprises there.
The fact that you think Liz should change parties when she shows absolutely no affinity for left wing causes only bolsters my original statement.

We have people who sit outside grocery stores with petitions for people to sign that sometimes re-register people to other parties. It's "sign here" "& this one " & this one", etc. The issue is in the general election anyone can vote for anyone. The primary the parties limit who can vote for their candidates. Here the GOP is most restrictive. Only registered GOP can vote for GOP. The Green Party I believe is the same. Democrats let anyone other than registered GOP vote for their candidates.

Either my grammar was poor........or you misread my post.
She's just the latest in heroes of Left as she opposes her own previous voters' views.

Someone even mentioned ballots having ID numbers applied as a cure for future issues
The mere fact the 'count' goes on over night these days is suspicious

She opposes lies and insurrection but not conservative stances on most major issues. Why should she change parties?

She's lied to her own voters
She should just change parties if her beliefs are differing from them.

We were told it was always a bad thing...........then we learned in the adult world it's a necessary thing.........and now, people seem to prefer their own brand of lies most.

Why? What do you want? Shove the ballots in a room overnight? Like that couldn't be compromised? Voting ends at a certain time. 8pm? 7? I forget. We had to have our ballots counted & packed & delivered within an hour. That means all 4 precinct workers do a job. One closes out the machines. One counts how many signatures are in the roster. One counts the number of ballots. One folds up the cardboard booths. THERE IS NO TIME FOR MONKEY BUSINESS. Not even second counts. One counts the ballots into piles of 10 Piles those into stacks of 10(100). Writes the total.on the end of day list. Mail ballots are put in an envelope but not counted against the number of ballots received, but provisionally & spoiled do get counted. Goal is obviously for the signatures & the ballot numbers to match. But it is busy. Some people miss signing. Etc. My totals were usually perfect. The few times I was off I could pin it to staff forgetting to get a signature on a provisional or a surrendered mail ballot. I was close to the registrars so they picked.my ballots up by 9pm. I had to get the rest of the supplies to a drop off around 8 blocks away. Co-workers of mine liked the counting center which started around 6-7pm so they didn't have to skip work that day & food was provided. They would be there until 2 or 3am loading the ballots into the feeders that counted them. GUESS WHAT BALLOTS HAVE NUMBERS it's how we counted. I would get x number of boxes of blank ballots Usually around 15 Spanish, 15 Vietnamese, 15 Filipino, 15 Chinese & 400 English. (500? I forget) They were numbered at the top so at the end of the day we could look at the number to see where it cut off. Say the last on the pad was 47. That means my count needed to match (ballot pads were in bunches of 50). And, yeah. There's serial numbers above the pad count

The only flak I got seemed to come from the right Like the occasional citizen observer who would try to watch us to make sure there was no funny business. They would sit for a couple hours & leave BECAUSE IT WAS BORING.

Going all the way back to the election of Kennedy.....(and before?) one party has been known for voting shenanigans. They even brag about it gleefully.
I happen to think your State should be split into a North and South. When you look at the color of all the counties in my state, it's clear the 3 major cities/counties........often get to dictate to the other 69 counties. That doesn't seem kosher either. Especially since they've been pulling some shady stuff here, too
