Photo Shows Dunkin' Store Out of Donuts as Food Shortages Hit U.S. Jack Dutton - Friday
There appears to be a lack of Dunkin' Donuts in parts of Baltimore due to "supply chain issues," according to posts and a photo on social media, as food shortages begin to be felt in the United States.
It's unclear whether the supply chain shortage is impacting the local area or nationwide, and Newsweek has contacted Dunkin' Donuts for comment.
A photo posted on Thursday with the caption "#BuildBackBetter" shows an empty shelf in a Baltimore store with a sign from Dunkin' Donuts saying: "We apologize, but due to supply chain issues, we do not have donuts today."
"Please try our wonderful bagels and muffins." #BuildBackBetter pic.twitter.com/phdBnEBoGo — Anna James Zeigler (@ajzeigler) October 14, 2021 Amanda Burnham, who posted a picture of the empty shelf and the sign, was asked by Newsweek which store was impacted: "This was the Belvedere Square location in Baltimore, MD (544 E. Belvedere Square)," she said. "I took the photo on Wednesday morning around 10am; I was going in to grab a coffee, but saw the sign and thought it was pretty amusing, so snapped a photo." Asked whether she was looking for donuts, Burnham said she wasn't. "I probably would have been pretty annoyed if I was looking for donuts, though!" she said. The news comes amid reports of empty shelves in stores across the U.S. Photos and videos on social media are showing growing evidence of food shortages.

How could they be out of donuts, but not muffins or bagels when they use the same goddamned ingredients? You understand that, right? Or no one bakes in your house? My kid apologized today when we saw Halloween Kills & went to Chili's after because we haven't seen each other for around a month. Little replies to texts as well. Problem is staffing issues. Minimum wage is $14. They start at $15.50 & still can't get staff. When they do, the staff get exposed to covid & have to isolate. My kid is working 50 hour weeks. Just got a raise to $32/hr, but it burning out. So most likely the problem is lack of staff to make the donuts, dude. Dunkin may be different now, but that article said it was around 10am. When we formerly had Dunkins in this area in the late 90s (they are just starting to come back. I know of 3 not on military bases) they sold out of donuts regularly because they closed around 2pm. Oh, look. From July A meme my sister sent-

And you 'Living Wage' goofs said $15/hr would solve the same problem.
Unfortunately it can't compete with the stimulus payments nor keep up with the coming inflation. Enjoy

But it's also like that last jobs report. Lots of parents(mostly women since childcare tends to fall to them) have failed to return to work due to lack of stable childcare (you know-that part if the infrastructure bill your side claims isn't infrastructure) so they are waiting to be sure schools aren't closing factories again.
While seniors who dropped out/retired early also haven't returned. So that's where we are at. Short workers who are too cautious to dip a toe in the pool yet.

There was a piece recently on how the average American showed a slight rise in the amount kept in their $Savings.
They figured it was from all of that stimulus being shelled out.
See you in 6-12 months when those 'free' dollars run out..........and the cost of everything continues to rise under your pal Brandon.

Really? Enough to not need to work for months? Dude, it was what, couple thousand? How many months is that paying rent? I lean more people can't rely on daycare (a MAJOR issue when one is a parent. That call from the school that one needs to come get one's kid...) And that retired people are saying hell no. Many might have compromised immune systems like Colin Powell so are maybe reluctant to go out much. That leaves the 20-60 crowd. The ones who haven't died. Some of which are finding better paid jobs

Do you even realize how you do that? You go from the rational and pennywise type..........to defending the typical American that is anything but. You and I both realize it really isn;t that much money. But far too many Americans think it's a fortune and life changing money. They have no ability to plan for anything more than today or tomorrow at best.
Imagine that. People actually put themselves in a position to rely on so many others? What did people do before daycare? It hasn't been around forever. I distinctly remember when it mushroomed up and thought "This is a bad idea"
You would be a part of that group that has suddenly decided it's time to check out. Good for you that you planned wisely and have that option........but you still realize most Americans do not set themselves up so well.
Some of which? The world is not set up for everyone to get the 'better' job with higher pay. That's the reality of it. And why are they now pushing for children to be vaccinated?.......down to 5 yrs old? I suspect yet another waste of tax dollars there.

Childcare is not and should not be the responsibility of anyone but the parents/family. But you village talkers refuse to give up that mantra, too.
I just heard some doofus use that exact phrase. "Life changing money" in regards to a cart he saw in a local casino. This from a fella that milks the welfare system for all it's worth and doesn't even bother to try to improve his life by working for it.
Do you remember Carebear yelling at me for pointing out how much he could've made investing in one stock versus buying his wife those new tires?
The 1940s of even 1960s isn't old? Even if many went back to being housewives, the notion of being independent and financially responsible was foreign to American women? Were they not paying attention for all these decades, too?
All the more reason to skip having kids or getting married. Otherwise that pay gap will never fix itself. Unless you're now calling for a pay adjustment to account for all that caregiving?
You only get the Equality you negotiate and demand. Who is at fault for hooking up with fellas that don't pull their weight?

Kids are dying of covid Been missing that news? Daycare should be the parent's job? What the hell are nannies? They've been a thing for decades. Mary Poppins, remember? Dude, tires are a necessity. You are such a curmudgeon. Everything is negative. I remember one time after my kid was born. I am getting a shower while my husband watches the baby. Next thing I know the shower door opens & he's demanding I get out now because the baby is crying.

Really? Is the percentage above 0.0000000001 yet?
Yeah! Their kids.
Nannies are for people who can afford to farm out their parenting. Part of deciding whether to bring kids into the world is deciding whether you can actually afford them. Why else do you think I'm actually pro-choice?
BS! Cars aren't even a necessity. It's a luxury to have a vehicle. Stop with your 1st world spoiled thinking.
Everything is a baffling display of stupidity....... I just chuckle and point it out.
I can totally understand why you chose to stop at ONE. Can you maybe explain why some of my relatives did not?

Vehicles are needed to get to work, etc. Employers aren't too happy when employees keep showing up late because the bus broke down again. Phones as well. They like being able to call employees in to cover a shift when needed. Not everyone lives a block from work. Hell, people travel miles for work. There are people who live in San Diego that work in L.A. We had an officer lived in Arizona that worked here. He'd stay in a motel for his work week, & drive back to Arizona for the weekend. Yeah, he didn't need a car. Gee, do you not get people? Co-workers kept asking why I didn't have another kid. I made the mistake of telling one because I felt guilty over my kid being in daycare all day & she & the other 2 gals there took offense that I was somehow saying they were bad mothers for having more kids & their being in daycare. Because you know in America we don't all live next door to family that can watch our kids. Maybe they live in the next county over or a different state. No. Things aren't baffling if one takes a few seconds to figure them out.

Compared to most? I am not short sighted.
One of the many factors in life, is deciding where to work and how far of a commute you have. I have argued that owning cars/having a license are a sign of adulthood.......only ot have leftists argue that 'But not everyone........" So decide which side you wanna take here.
So you're saying both cars and phones are necessities now? Absolutely necessary for life? Forgive me for the eye roll here
Great example of how people take offense at everything.
Again, in America you have the right and freedom to decide how you wanna live your life.

Sure, in your little podunk neck of America. You obviously don't comprehend Californians if you believe cars are a luxury. Why do so many seniors fight losing their licenses? It is a major loss of freedom when they become dependent on others for transportation. For most people who don't drive, it is a conscious decision not to. My sister never learned because she felt too nervous. An aunt also. Others I've known lack depth perception. You can't get from point A to point B in San Diego by bus. A co-worker complained she would.love to take the bus, but it would take her 2 hours vs 30 minutes by her driving. I had a 20 minute drive to work in the morning so I would leave at 7am to start at 7:30. When my Neon was down I had to leave at 5am to catch a bus around 5:15 to get to the trolley station to get dropped off 5 blocks from my work. Roads don't go through. The freeway does. We are a city built on spaces. There isn't a single road that connects the city. It's this road, then another to catch that road, then another. Orange county is far easier. One can follow Brookhurst or Beach from the beach to Anaheim, passing through all the cities on the way. It's one of those jammed together places. Driving Beach one sees signs "welcome to Westminster.""you are now leaving Stanton" it feels like one giant city when it's actually several with no room to expand. There is a school at the end of the block. To get to any store is 6 blocks north or 6 blocks south. Think everyone who lives in all the apartments in this area could get work at the liquor store to the north or the gas station to the south? I have discussed my husband. We lived in Orange County when we married but 6 months in we moved to San Diego, around a 90 minute drive. My husband also said we couldn't afford a phone so we didn't have one. This was 1980 so no cell phones. To call my mother I had to walk to the 7-11 on the corner which my husband actually admitted was the reason for no phone. He didn't want me to be able to call my mother. A control issue. However I also had hell finding work because they want to be able to call one to come in for work. So yeah, I know how impossible it is. How one needs a phone because I didn't have one for 6 months. I finally insisted we needed a phone & once it was installed he said the reason he said no phone was to keep me from speaking with my family. I remember life in San Bernardino in the 60s. Party line phones. No answer machines. Even more miles & miles between businesses. No pagers either

Do you believe everything is within walking distance in my podunk area?
Cars are still a luxury usually reserved for adults who take on the responsibility of buying and maintaining them.
So we're in agreement that people who opt not to own their own cars are in a way opting out of being fully independent adults? They expect the public to provide them with transportation? Despite all of the negatives that come along with that method of travel? (Philly just had a doozy of a tale on that)
Job availability and cost of living are all things that go into choosing wisely for yourself.
Your husband seemed to have the ability to think of things to be a real tool. I still believe in America you have the right and freedom to decide how you wanna live your life. Choose wisely.
by the by, I've seen the typical phone bill go from about $10/month for a basic landline.......to people paying well over $100/month for their cell phones.....all while bitching things are too expensive? Poor choices yet again. Cell phones are a luxury.......one that most of the planet opts for, strangely enough.

Dude. You are the one said people choose where to live. Ability to afford obviously has squat to do with it. My clients were always begging for bus cards. $5 each way. Dude, some people lose the right to have a car. DUIs need to take a class to get their license back. It's a sign of a stalker/domestic abuser that he was that controlling. Something most people don't seem to understand. Those "Obama phones" which were actually Ronnie's lifeline phone line for low income people that W opened up to cell phones. So no, they aren't paying for them. My clients had to check in after release from jail & were often on their way next to get their free phone Under a certain income limit one could get a free phone. Some are apparently inventive enough to get 2 or 3 so they don't have the minutes limit. Getting paid under the table/cash enables them to do this. My sister-in-law's husband did drywall for cash so she qualified for all sorts of freebies. Not Democrat. My inlaws were all Republicans Whee!

And? When you choose someplace you can't afford.......you chose poorly. That's not anyone else's fault.
Oh, those affordable buses. If not for Govt subsidies, they'd have likely abandoned them years ago.
They lose the right? Then again.....they chose poorly.
It takes 2 to tango. People understand that.
So 2 wrongs make a right? The original land lines were nowhere near as pricey as the cell phones now. And even those are up for debate.
Inventive enough to get 2 or 3........but not so inventive as to be more productive
I've told you how often the GOP are just as bad as the Dems. You've got all the proof you need. Now stop denying those programs are defrauded all the time.

There is no denying the type that spend as much or more energy looking for the easy fix as actually working. I just argue the good done by the programs isn't negated by the cheaters/grasshoppers. My husband was one. Worked, but always looking for that shortcut. Rushed through his work because it equaled more pay (he felt if he rushed through his work, getting it done faster & goofing off for hours equaled higher pay. Say he was paid $10/hour. If he did the work in 4 hours it equaled $20/hour even if he got written up for doing a crappy job). How about you stop denying the good done. It's like the terrorism argument. "If one plane goes down we've failed" But the reality is there is always someone looking for that loophole. That way to blow the safe. The way to rob Fort Knox. That way to bring down a plane. Or how to get away with murder. That is the game. Set up the board. Set the rules. Someone will always look for the loophole they can squeeze through
