Did you ever see Incredible. I watched it when it aired on NBC
I have been meaning to........after his Bond part and Polar, he strikes me as one of those kinda actors that lifts almost every project up.
It was great. Eddie Izard is in it. My kid has a kindle but also has books. Or I have a bunch of my kid's books.

Hey, the Bible is cool with eating your neighbour's crops Deuteronomy 23
It also says 'Love thy neighbor as thyself'.
So until people actually love themselves, it's clearly not within their capability to love their neighbors.

So would you agree that it's very, very clear many, many people do not love themselves? Just going by what they get up to daily

Not the meaning of the line, dude. The line was meant to treat others well. That one should be nice to everyone Context.

Well, I disagree with your interpretation.
How can you even begin to treat others well when you're neglecting yourself?
then there's this..........
Proverbs 24:27 “Put your outdoor work in order and get your fields ready; after that, build your house.”
Explanation and Commentary of Proverbs 24:27
What could be more practical and wise? While the example is agrarian, you don’t have to be a farmer to heed this wisdom. Most people today prioritize their lifestyle. What sort of house should they buy? How nice of a car can they afford? How can they achieve the highest status by the way they consume? This is the American way of putting the cart before the horse.
Rather, understand that God has called us to work. From the very beginning, even before sin entered the world, the mandate was to produce (Gen 1:28). This is part of what it means to be an image-bearer of God. A place to live is necessary, but a means of living is more necessary. A life well-lived is one that is focused on one’s contribution to the world, and for most, this will revolve around the work that you do. God has made you to provide some aspect of his grace to improve the lives of others around you. If you are doing that, you will likely receive a livelihood from that contribution. That is a proper focus for an image-bearer; working for good of the world, for the glory of God.

So, while you are building your fields, where are you sleeping? In a tent? In the field? Mommy's house? Its not practical, dude.

YES! That's sorta the point.
Until you've got the work done on what will provide and sustain you long term, what's the point in building a home?
You're going to use the typical American's behavior as an example of what is practical? They rent, they lease, the go into debt on all sorts of things

Dude, you are speaking of a time & place where there was land aplenty. Where the son was likely deeded property by his parents or by his ruler or he could go out into the unsettled area, plant down his mark & till the soil. Where they DID usually live with family until marriage or military service. My great-great-great-great grandfather per family rumor was excommunicated from the Mormon church because he claimed too much land in Utah. One was allowed to claim so much per son but great-whatever took more , when the church demanded he return the excess-nope. People can't do that now, can they? They can't line up & race to squat on a plot of ground the government will grant them, can they?

If there was so much 'land a plenty'......why did God have to tell them "Go down and kill those people on your Promised Land"? There was warfare all the time back then........cuz it was the crossroads of civilization, at least for the people we know of.
Kind of amazing how on one hand they were giving land away (to settle it and remove the Indians) while at the same time that church was keeping careful track to make sure nobody took too much.
The homeless kinda do. And you won't even let me suggest the idea of selling off a good portion of all of these National Parks. Then you wonder why Cali isn't building as much as they should for the millions of new people there?

Because there is so much green, verdant land in the middle east? Prime location has always been a thing. What was on the news last week? So they are still fighting it? Claiming there was some back door deal with the politicians that approved it? NOT IN MY BACK YARD! The reason they haven't been building apartments ot housing.

It was God, merh. If He wanted to give them the Promised Land........why didn't HE remove the people from it Himself?
And back then there weren't nearly as many people on the planet as today........so a bit more elbow room.
Our City has had issues with a particular church and their homelessness venture. They're aiding and abetting the worst.
I'll just say it again, there's plenty of parkland available........plus there are certainly entire neighborhoods that could be condemned for too much crime and lack of maintenance. How better to improve ghetto situations? Go to Youtube and type in Phliadelphia Kensington for a peek at what they allow these days. I'm sure it's similar to your state.

No, dude. Shit to do with homeless The complaint was the church’s size, parking, etc would upset the quiet neighborhood setting as 1,000 parishioners came to attend from other areas of town. Just like the filming in that LA neighborhood. Just a couple days. But noooo. It would upset the neighborhood. Looky loues would visit looking to see where it was filmed! NIMBY I moved here, now no one else can come.

I was just giving you one example of why a church might not be embraced these days. I can certainly understand increased traffic being an issue in a quiet neighborhood, too. My short street has about 12-15 homes on it, lots of trees and NO streetlights. Most people work or are retired, so after about 8PM, it's usually completely dark and very quiet around here. It's awesome.
NIMBY is everywhere. Do YOU want more traffic? or homeless? or people in general around your chosen spot? But where to put them all, right?

Yes. Where to build all those apartments people need to be able to live in so housing is affordable. Yet if there is more housing, supply & demand means one's home might not appreciate in value as it has because if short supply. So lack of housing becomes their problem because their stuff doesn't become as valuable as they want it to unless they deny everyone else. Exclusivity

I'd only disagree with you about a home losing value because somebody finally got around to building enough places for others. We might not see the Seller's Market we just saw for a few years, but home values tend to do one thing.......appreciate.
Levittown type of thinking needs to be the order of the day. imo Nice starter homes with decent sized yards. The right mix of condos, duplexes and apartments sprinkled in, as well.
It can't be that tough to replicate what works elsewhere.
