it's very confusing because there's so many different sects and branches
I went to St. John the Baptist, by the way and I'm pretty sure I was baptized
So if I'm defending religious people, aren't I defending those black liberals and their right to believe?
I find the inconsistencies pretty funny, is all. And it ain't just the religious types.
Good God. If the state backs a particular religion, it is disrespecting all the others. Thus it is better for The State to not promote any one religion. The alternative is it must promote all religions. Like prayer in school would have to be repeated in a similar format for all faiths (so a dozen or so prayers) or just don't play that game. No prayer means all get equal respect I remember a lot of people were against the moment of silence but it's really the only fit option in a diverse nation such as ours. The same goes for the 10 commandments in a courthouse. Do that & you must allow all other faiths space in that building to post their equivalent. So it's not hatred of religion, dude, but respect for all faiths. |

No, I don't let my cats out because they can be coyote dinner or roadkill. They could also take out some of those 492 variety of birds we have in San Diego. But as an adult I have to give a certain amount of trust to the adults in my life. No, strangers need to be a bit more studied, but family should be trustworthy. When they aren't, it reflects a flaw in them. A lack of respect towards me. |

Agreed. I was arguing back then against the religious that they were ignoring what would ever happen should they get outnumbered and/or lose control. Sorta like how all the Leftists had happen when Trump got elected to run the Govt they were all for expanding for years. 
What I'm referring to is the attitude and vile speech I've witnessed in these sorts of forum for over 20 years now. For such a group of clearly dumb a**holes, so many of these new age intellectuals think they can talk smack down to anyone with any religious faith and get away with it, scott free. Sorry, but I'm not a fan of just replacing one cult with another......especially when the older one was doing me any harm all these years.
This Betty Bowers character role is a clear swipe at religious types, too. It's fine for you or I to believe differently than our elders, imo.........but to be a snide little crunt about it as if you've got life and the universe all figured out? pffffft

I have no real opinion or care on the matter. The closest I can come to believing in anything is a positive/negative energy force. That's about it.

And many sects bounce back and forth between the Old & New to suit their whims. They can't even agree on the overall message, per se hence all of the various sects within.

I've seen enough of SNL to know how it works.......It may not be as glaringly biased as the MSM, but it's pretty close. I didn't even realize it until many years watching were in the bag.......then looking back and realizing they always shit on the conservatives.......while lightly cajoling their preferred politicians. I haven't really bothered watching them since around the time Mike Myers left
