Was the grasshopper not at fault after mocking the ant? We were discussing renting/owning the other day and I totally understand when and why many would opt for renting. I do. But then when they get much older and suddenly rent is still due......who's fault is that? Did they not plan far enough in advance to provide for that rent always being due? Am I too harsh for pointing that out?
1. What should bother you is that so many children are living below 130% of the poverty line. Quick note: for a 3-person family that's a total income of about $26,600/year.
2. If we're in the produce section of the supermarket and you take the last orange, then I have no oranges through no fault of my own.
3. And a homeowner's mortgage is due for however many years. And those tax bills are never going away... or the homeowner's insurance bills... or the car payments because you bought the house so far away from where you work you need to drive everywhere. Then there's the car insurance and gas. And you as the homeowner are responsible for all of your own maintenance: a new water heater every decade or so; a new roof every 20 to 30 years. Look at those cracks in the driveway. Looks like a couple of boards on the deck need replacing and the whole thing needs resealing. Is your lawnmower in need of replacement? No? Then get out there and cut that grass, you lazy fucker. Damn those tree branches are getting awfully close to the upstairs windows. Speaking of which, the heating bill has been going up. It might be time for some window replacements. Black mold? Whaddaya mean, "black mold?" Termites? Fumigation?
Yeah. Home ownership is soooo much cheaper.....
1. WHY should it bother me? NOT MY kids. Not my decision. And I haven't been given dictatorial powers over others as of yet. I blame the people who skipped Sex Ed or just plain don't care about their own kids.
2. Again.....if you're a renter, and have no plans to stop being a renter (Your choice) then you'd better come up with a plan to pay for rent into the future.
3. True.......but it does end at some point ....usually 30 years or less. You can also opt out buy Selling. Very true on the taxes.......something to plan on into the future. Which is another reason people like me want to hold the line on all the new spending......y'know, like funding rent controls and forgiving college loans. I wouldn't own a home more than 15-20 from my work......but I have known people who drive an hour or more. Their choice. Lazy F'er? THAT's pretty much how the Govt looks at it. Get out there and cut that lawn or ELSE! You'll end up with the govt sending someone to cut it and a $Fine/Bill is soon to follow. Never mind that 'thru no fault of their own' then, huh?
It's not a matter of cheaper, imo. It's a matter of a more predictable and stable cost of living. I know what my payment is this year and all the years to follow until it's paid for. I can easily plan for it. Even my power bill is something I opt for what they call Budget Billing. They predict their costs for the entire year and send me a bill of the same amount each month. No Highs or Lows for me.

Sounds a bit like the same tactics that made Domestic Abuse cause for loss of a person's 2nd Amendment rights.

Sounds a bit like the same tactics that made Domestic Abuse cause for loss of a person's 2nd Amendment rights. Because it's a great idea to let a person who abuses another human being to have a gun? Allows them to kill their victim quicker?

1. Criminals in the US have no real problem getting a gun if they want one.
2. Why would a loud argument between 2 people end up with one of them losing their gun rights? especially if a gun was never pulled or threatened to be used?
Plenty of the ladies these days end up dead despite all of the newer laws and restrictions. Keep poking the bear..........see where that goes.

So Ben Franklin & others accepted abortion as normal
Oh? Are we following a buncha oldd racist white men's example now?
Apparently Ben got around quite a bit......so it makes sense he'd be prepared.

So cool Justice Alito claims abortion didn't exist in America by quoting a witch hunter from the 1600s, but ignore one of the founding fathers putting a recipe for how to end a pregnancy in a book of helpful info? Or this section? So it was a common enough practice back then.

So a man having the right to have a boom stick has more of a right than a woman has to live? A man proves he has violent tendencies like some of my clients so we can take away his right to vote but not his guns! Lock him away from society in prison, but let him keep his guns!

If you feel that you have the right to remove my rights........then I feel I have every right to kill you. How bout dat?
And then you give them their vote back because statistically you know it favors your party.
Keep ignoring the Fact that criminals have no problems getting guns......... or anything else they want. ......often even in prison.

1. And yet you constantly support politicians trying to take away decision power...
2. And home owners had better plan for their future. What's the fucking difference
3. Seriously?> Point by point rather than understanding the concept as a whole?

You say a majority of gun owners are responsible, yet when someone proves himself or herself irresponsible, fuck it, they still MUST keep their guns? Sorry. If YOU do something to cause society to question your ability to handle a weapon, it is YOURSELF & not society removing your rights. Like drunk driving. Get pulled over testing positive while driving, you are possibly facing some sort of restrictions on driving.

This is hilarious.
You claim people are irresponsible and should have their gun rights removed.........but the irresponsible that get pregnant should have others take care of them and provide them their 'rights' to abortion? How many rights do you know of that end up costing other people money?
Nonsense. This crappy society keeps declining and changing their definitions. They're rewarding criminals and turning law abiders into criminals.

That was the original plea. Do you remember differently? I knew it was BS all along.
Your statement isn't false. Do you believe some people haven't been extremely dramatic since 2016?
