1. Do you think I was calling BS on gunshot wounds from firing guns in the air?
2. Do you think I'm arguing for the right of every irresponsible idiot that wants to fire a gun into the air?
You don't want reasonable gun control laws saying gun owners are responsible when they obviously arent

There are already laws against such things. You figure 10 more will suddenly make people behave better?

You don't want reasonable gun control laws saying gun owners are responsible when they obviously arent You can make a law stating safety guidelines.
You can include the penalties for not following the guidelines.
You cannot force anyone to follow them any more than that. An idiot is going to be an idiot whether it gets him a $5,000 fine and 6 months in jail or a $100,000 fine and 5 years in jail.
The penalties are for those folks who aren't quite so bright but still smart enough to know they don't want to pay the fine or go to jail no matter what.
Smart gun owners already followed the guidelines before they were laws.
That said, adding laws that start making it impossible for even the smart owners to follow is an infringement of the right set out in the Second Amendment.

So no rules whatsoever is too much for you?

If I were a betting man, I'd put my money on a former employee pulling this stunt.

I think the 4 Rules of gun safety should just about cover it.

You ARE aware there are many, many other laws regarding guns and safe use?

Rules vs laws. Laws have criminal penalties. Rules are guidelines usually with no legal repercussions. There are a lot of people who see themselves as rule breakers.

18-year-old Demari Batten, of Newport News, was taken into custody and charged with: second-degree murder, shooting firearm on school grounds, use of firearm in the commission of a felony,” the department wrote.
WHY isn't the murder charge sufficient? by the way, they found one gun on the shooter and 2 in the victim's car. Sounds like they were of similar attitudes when it came to rules and laws.

The 6 yr old is a slightly different matter I believe as a parent is supposed to keep dangerous objects from the hands of children. But deflect & pretend a 6 yr old is the same as an 18 yr old. On the other hand, we have discussed teens, haven't we? That the brain paths rewire in the teen years which is why teens do such insanely crazy stuff not unlike jumping off the diving board into the empty pool because they just don't look first. Murder charge? Why the hell would a teen with no impulse control think about tomorrow? The brain doesnt finish that rewiring until they are in their 20s. This is why I called my under 30 crowd "young & stupid". Because they were so positive they were right & didn't need any advice. Which is why they make such.good canon fodder for older & wiser commanding officers standing behind them.

Are you referring to the recent 'toddler' pointing the handgun? Cuz that was all sorts of nuts.......and irresponsible parenting. There's no deflection, you know I disapprove of bad parenting.
I agree on impulse control a bit..........but by 10-13 yrs old? You should know the basic differences between right and wrong. Illegal gun use is bound to be wrong.
You and the scientists keep repeating that...........but 100 years or more ago.......... teens were expected to be much more responsible. Just because 'society' lowered the bar, doesn't mean we all have.
Are you ready for the next 20 year war over in Ukraine?
