There's been a number of news stories about prison guards interacting with inmates. They get murderers off, as well.  

I have seen it and remember it well. It was such a funny ending. Used to watch that show regularly, but most were not that good.

Skeletal remains found at a New York City construction site two years ago have been positively identified as a 19-year-old "Occupy Wall Street" protester who went missing in 2012.

The New York Police Department (NYPD) is now asking the public for information regarding the death of Stevie Bates, who was reported missing in April 2012.

In 2020, during an excavation at 80-97 Cypress Avenue, Bates' skeletal remains were discovered.

New York City’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner positively identified the remains as Bates on Friday.

The gruesome discovery was made at a Queens construction site for a new apartment building. The NYPD lists her age as 28 and notes that she was homeless.

Her cause of death remains part of the ongoing investigation, police said. So far, her death is not considered a homicide.

Bates, who attended Hunter College, was deeply involved in the 2011 "Occupy Wall Street" movement, camping out with hundreds of others in Zuccotti Park for two months until police dispersed protesters in November of that year.



On April 27, 2012, Bates had borrowed a cell phone to call her mother from Yonkers, saying she was on a Greyhound bus layover in Pittsburgh, the New York Post reported.

Surveillance video shows her boarding the bus in Pittsburgh.

Her mother, Vivian Bates-Jones, told ABC Eyewitness News in 2021 that her daughter had later returned to New York and went to visit her boyfriend, who was squatting at a home in Queens.

The home is reportedly close to where the remains were found years later.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). All calls are strictly confidential, police said.

A mom claims she captured a would-be kidnapper following (and recording) her and her daughter while shopping. A quick search online would later reveal the terrifying identity of their alleged stalker.

TikTok mom @dd_escapades had no idea an ordinary trip to Walmart would become a scary viral experience — but after posting her hair-raising footage, she quickly amassed over 8.9 million views and 17,000 comments.

Now, she’s encouraging parents everywhere always to pay attention to their surroundings.

What began as a normal shopping trip at her local Walmart quickly became a terrifying experience for @dd_escapades.

Her now-viral footage begins with a shot of shoes hanging on a shelf, as she’s sneakily trying to capture the man she claims had been following her through the store.

“I don’t know him, and he’s following me and recording me,” she says, zooming in on the man. Moments later, the space the man has just been occupying is suddenly empty. “Now he’s gone, after he realized I started recording him,” she adds.

Accompanied only by her young daughter, @dd_escapades quickly found a Walmart employee and showed them the footage she had captured. The staff member informed the store manager, who sent employees out to find and remove the man.

In a follow-up video, @dd_escapades informed followers of the terrifying discovery she’d made after looking up her alleged stalker.

“He has been identified. He is a registered sex offender, class 1. … He was arrested for molestation and rape,” she states plainly in the video.

According to @dd_escapades, she turned her footage and Walmart’s security footage over to the police and filed an official report. In another follow-up video, she shared that she would be pressing charges against the man.

“Scary people out here…”
TikTokers were quick to share their own scary shopping experiences in the comments.

“This happened to us last week. We had the manager escort us out ! At Walmart as well,” one user wrote.

“The same thing happened to me at TJMaxx a few weeks ago while I was with my 3 year old son and I’m 6 months pregnant… scary people out here!!!” another user commented.

“I was followed in Walmart by 3 men. Followed me to makeup, hair stuff then womens clothing section. A worker walked me out & the guys disappeared,” wrote one user.



“This is so much more common than people realize 😳,” another comment read.

“Good eye! Stay safe,” wrote another user.

According to Defense Ninjas, an organization devoted to women’s self-defense and empowerment, people who fear they’re being followed should verbally confront their would-be stalkers.

“Ask him: Are you following me? … If the potential follower doesn’t respond to your confrontation or ask, then it’s time to escalate. … Take a picture of him and call 911 very visibly,” they advise

Graphic police body camera footage has just been released showing a Los Angeles officer fatally shooting a teenager brandishing an airsoft gun.

A “neighbour from hell” has been jailed for 15 years for causing a gas explosion that killed a toddler when he cut pipes to sell them for £400.

Two-year-old George Hinds died in the blast in May 2021 when Darren Greenham, 45, used an angle grinder to cut a pipe in his home in Heysham, Lancashire, in the early hours of the morning while intoxicated.

The explosion destroyed Greenham’s council-owned property and caused severe damage to two neighbouring homes, trapping the toddler and his family in the rubble.

In a sentencing hearing at Preston crown court, the boy’s parents described how they were “absolutely heartbroken” and had been left facing a lifetime of grief “all because Darren Greenham decided to cut a gas pipe”.

The judge, Robert Altham, described Greenham as a “selfish and disruptive” neighbour who lived his life “without regard for the comfort of those who were unfortunate enough to live adjacent to him”.

The court was told Greenham had been a “neighbour from hell” for several years. He would regularly abuse those living near him, the court heard, and would light bonfires, throw late-night parties and invite a rotating cast of intoxicated visitors.

George’s parents, Vicky Studholme and Stephen Hinds, said they sent a lengthy list of complaints to Lancashire county council and Lancashire police but that they felt let down by the authorities.

Greenham was in the process of being evicted from the house when he began stripping it for items to sell for cash. In the early hours of 16 May last year, he took an angle grinder to a copper gas pipe that he planned to sell for £400, according to the prosecutor, Timothy Cray.

The act caused a huge blast that reduced the properties to rubble, killing George, who had been asleep next door. The boy’s parents were pulled from the debris and taken to hospital, where they were told their son had died.

Studholme said in a statement read to court: “The house, the car, my possessions can all be replaced but George never can be. I can’t describe in words how much I miss him. I am absolutely heartbroken.”

She added: “Although we reported this countless times, we have been let down by the council and the police – and the death of my beautiful baby boy could have been avoided.”

The judge praised George’s parents, who have been living in a caravan since the explosion, for their dignity, and said he shared their “incomprehension” that anyone could put the lives of so many at risk for the sake of stealing “a few lengths of copper piping”.

Greenham, who sustained a serious head injury and lost much of the use of his right hand in the explosion, pleaded guilty in August to manslaughter, damaging a gas meter and theft of gas.

Another defendant, Paul Marsh, who was said to have altered the gas meter in Greenham’s property so gas could be received for free, was charged with damaging a gas meter and theft of gas, but died before his trial.

Greenham, who showed no emotion in the dock, was given concurrent sentences of one month for the charges of damaging the meter and theft of gas.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) - A man died after trying to do a handstand on a hotel balcony during Hurricane Ian last week, according to an official.

Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard said 34-year-old Markell Hope fell from the 15th-floor balcony of the Patricia Grand Hotel while attempting the maneuver at around 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 30.

Hope, of Akron, Ohio, died at the scene due to his injuries, according to Willard.
