He apparently had moving vans there the days prior. And no one thought to report that to law enforcement? Maybe they could have sent an officer out to check if the furniture was gone?

looks like he may have been one of your typical clients.
We just had a couple pull that off here in GB, too. The female tried to drive over the cops, too.
Now where would they ever get the idea that retail theft would go unenforced?

Actually... It's been a reality FOR YEARS. when my kid worked at Vons Grocery Store in the late 00s employees were told NOT TO CONFRONT SHOPLIFTERS. They had security guard that traveled the district who made arrests. Because they didn't want to get sued for falsely accusing someone of shoplifting who didn't shoplift.. So sorry, dude. The secret finally got out. When I worked at Wards in the EARLY 1980s we were told to leave that stuff to the store security. Don't confront the customer.

And it got out with a vengeance.
Just another example of us all, society so to speak, being told to ignore antiquated notions like theft and stealing.
This is what makes so many arguments on the left so ridonkulous. You're against the death penalty, but for abortion being just one of many glaring inconsistencies.

Who is against the death penalty? I agree with Robert Bloch who said people who refuse to Play by society's rules deserve to be removed from society But 2 way street Anti abortion because life matters, but pro death penalty?

Who? Many left leaning posters, in my experience.
That could be why we have such a high prison population........they accept 'remove from society' as just placing them in a cell, rather than dispatching them toot sweet.
No, I think the latter makes a bit more sense. You want everyone to have a chance at life. You give everyone the opportunity. But there are still rules. Certain crimes just qualify you for getting your ticket punched. Such as depriving others of their right to live.

That wasn't what the author of Psycho meant.. So you say you are probably choice but not really. Every one should be born you just said

Psycho? Didn't Norman remove people that weren't criminals?
I am choice.......provided you pay for it yourself........ and I'm still allowed to have an opinion. It should be clear by now in my list of offenses, having children you abuse is much higher on the list than getting an abortion.
No, I was merely explaining the pro-lifer's stance. They love telling tales of that one time an abortion was avoided and it turned out to be a great inventor or a tremendous humanitarian later in life. As opposed to the much greater odds of it just being yet another nameless, faceless stat in the crowd.

You should read Bloch's short stories. Like the attorney that gets the murderer off. I love that one. You've see "case of the stubborns", right? It was an episode of Tales from the Darkside

Reading assignments? ehhhhhhh
There's been a number of news stories about prison guards interacting with inmates. They get murderers off, as well.
I have seen it and remember it well. It was such a funny ending. Used to watch that show regularly, but most were not that good.
