I'm calling BS right off the first paragraph.
Putting up with homeless has only allowed for more of them to accumulate. Forget the bootstraps.....start putting a boot in their asses.
Nonsense. You can still find lower cost homes out there......they may not be all that nice or in great neighborhoods, but they're a start.
Merh and her juicy pension should feel guilty right about now?
Sounds like just another person that doesn't truly know what poor or suffering really is yet. But they'll look to Govt to save them, I'll bet.

Still isn't enough to buy a home. Down payment here is $120,000. Many of those homeless have mental health issues. A boot in their ass doesn't help Single

Where do most of those experts live, I wonder?
Even the mentally challenge respond to a kick in the ass. You pampering and enabling them has only led to more problems. Heck, you're encouraging more of them to show up....... just like they did here in Green Bay by offering more social services to the homeless

Look at you resist limiting the amount of single family dwelling zoning. You notice that's a mobile home park meaning space rent I have 4 cats. What do I do with the other 3? So you want paranoid schizophrenics making your food? Sharp implements? I had a client took a chain saw to someone's car. Let's put her to work.

There's plenty of land west of the Missippi, merh. Get the Govt to start selling it off. I think it's long past time we came up with a successful formula for most cities when it comes to industrial space, commercial property and housing both in R1, R2 and the rest. But we'd probably disagree on how much rental property should be made available.
I am against HOAs and covenants for the most part. If you keep a clean home, why should I care if you have 4 cats? But then again, I could argue as a RENTER, who do you think you are demanding to dictate to the landlord what you can or can;t do with their property? The problem you've got is all the renters who are not responsible and clean. THEY ruined it for you. Why blame the landlord?
No, I want paranoid whackjobs either medicated properly or put down all together. Either or, doesn't matter to me. I'd have gladly done the deed with a certain family member of mine.
No, let's solve her problem one way or the other.

So we're killing the mentally ill now? Because all those conservative judges the right like are fine with the mentally ill living on the street so the government could save the cost of mental institutions https:/wealthy-silicon-valley-town-blocked-155024728.htmlNIMBYs.

HA! I love it! More places should pull the same trick. Fight the leftists with their own BS programs.
And start building massive homeless shelters in the bluest of cities........that's where they're all gathered anyway. right?

I have been saying NIMBY. Since when is Silicon Valley in the Bay Area of California NOT bluest of blue? The mayor is democrat.. But here you are cheering them NOT allowing affordable housing? Have you not heard of George Lucas? fantasticfacts.net/5984/

One major thing, merh...........you've been against getting rid of the millions of Illegals for years........but THAT is clearly an easy and quick ANSWER to the housing shortage. But I know, many people do not like easily identifiable problems solved.
I do recall that story from years ago........and even applauded Lucas at the time. You'll remember I'm in favor of the property owner deciding what they do with their property.
Am I shocked it never got done? Nope. Cuz that's what Govt and committees and people 'working together' so often results in.
They were gonna spend almost $1 million dollars per unit? Are ya kidding me? WTF is so 'affordable' about that? Or are we using the same definition used for the ACA? Affordable but not really?

So it's not our rents are excessively high, but that income is too low.
This is such a chicken/egg conversation.
You guys actually think you can pass another law mandating wage increases........and then everything is fixed? But you ignore what artificially raising those wages actually does? You ignore how people that make much more than you or I are still smothered in debt of their own making?

You mean how Elon Musk doesn't have income? He lives off taking out loans on his company shares. Companies paying CEOs ginormous bucks? Maybe it all needs to swing back the other way. Why is paying a decent wage such an impossible idea?

I was thinking about people like him..........THAT's about the only way I see a decent dent getting made in the housing shortage (aside from booting all the Illegals, of course) Where's Bill Gates or Buffet or any of those others just plain building new neighborhoods?
You know how it swings back responsibly? People starting up more of their own businesses/co-ops.
Because the notion of what a 'decent wage' these days is flat out ridiculous. Some Americans make much more than you or I.......a decent wage.......and STILL live paycheck to paycheck.
