then why does he/she/it tolerate all of the false religions?
If there is no god then why do so many people who are otherwise, reasonably intelligent believe in one?

What would you suggest He do?
Just like you can't force backwards cultures into the 21st century, you can't force spiritual awakening on those who are spiritually asleep either. Everyone grows at their own pace.

But that's for another time.
Back OT:
What exactly would (or should) people spiritually awake to?

Depends on what you consider backwards. The Native Americans respected the planet and nature, whereas the 'advanced' cultures have no respect for life, pollute and destroy to the point where they are searching for other planets to infect with our shit. Those who are spiritually awake don't impose it on others.

To the second: Sadly there are waaaay too many who think that their "awakeness" requires constant annoyance of others.

I once played God in a school play... and got to kick my English teacher in the arse.
For the rest of the play, all I had to do was sit there and play with a Rubik's cube.
That was one of the few highlights of my school years.

The "one true God" concept is a fairly modern one. Judaism in the beginning was polytheistic.

and don't think I feel sorry for you 'cause your daddy died.
My father came back from the Korean War with his brains so scrambled, he thought he was Jesus!
They put him in a nuthouse for five years, when he came out, he didn't think he was Jesus no more, he thought he was God.
Which made me Jesus.

Mine actually did die, in my last year of primary school. Or a year or so before I played God.

Sorry to hear that. Do you figure it played a major role in who you've become?
My father was killed when I was barely 1 year old. It certainly led to a lot of turmoil in a family with 5 children by 3 different men and several surnames.

1. Good way? Bad way? You're fine with it either way?
2. Oh, VERY! My Brother in law was my classmate.....and didn't know until he was practically married that she was even my sister. Then try explaining how/why we were going to school with some of our Aunts and Uncles, too. My grandmother had 16 kids in 20 years..........so some of them were close in age to us.
