Fort Bragg soldier charged with murder in shooting death of another soldier By KATE FELDMAN New York Daily News | May 10, 2021 at 11:43 AM
A Fort Bragg soldier has been accused of fatally shooting another outside a North Carolina home.
Tiara Nicole Vinson, 26, was charged Saturday with first-degree murder and discharging a firearm into occupied property for the death of Kelia Horton, 22, according to the Fayetteville Observer.
Police responded to the house around 1:30 p.m. Friday and found Horton with a gunshot wound. She was transported to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
“Since last night, our priority has been supporting Kelia Horton’s family and friends. That focus continues. This is a tragic, senseless loss and a terrible moment, particularly for those here who knew Kelia,” Col. Joseph Buccino, a spokesman for the 18th Airborne Corps, told the Observer.
“The command at the 525 Military Intelligence Brigade is organizing grief counseling for Kelia’s fellow soldiers and engaging with the family.”
It’s unclear what led police to Vinson or the relationship between the two women.
Both women were active-duty soldiers stationed at Fort Bragg, according to Buccino: Horton was a motorpool clerk assigned to the 525th Military Intelligence Brigade and Vinson is a parachute rigger assigned to the 3rd Special Forces Group.
Vinson is being held in the Cumberland County jail without bail.

in country filled with the irresponsible....... they sure expect a lot of responsibility.
The two things that blow me away here....... the 'family' of someone in foster care is outraged? Where were they before?
and the foster kids...........all attacking each other? Seems like maybe raising responsible adults is not high on the list of lessons to be taught?

You ever find it odd that even the people given the best of circumstances.........still often seek out their bios?
Been watching Yellowstone with Kevin Costner and there's a bit of that. Very Shakespearean

The ultimate in tribalism
Wanting to know about your heritage isn't necessarily "tribal" in the sense of wanting to identify with a group. It's just about having complete information.
I'm related to about 20 past presidents of the US... and I'm not exactly thrilled by it, but it's an interesting component of who I am.

I entirely understand wanting to know your background for medical purposes or just plain curiosity.
But I do think people place a whole lotta weight on something that really doesn't matter in the present.
Should you be thrilled? Would it benefit you in some way?
If we simply go back far enough.......we're ALL related.

"Primate" is the larger group consisting of "lesser apes" and "great apes" (to which humans belong).
