I do wish politicidal would hang out here now and again. And you and Marilyn continue to show up here. There are posters I miss from v2, but v1 is, well, disturbing to me. This place has kind of spoiled me. If some of the folks who signed up here on April 1 would come back here now and again, this could be a good forum. Though without Prometheus, it is different, sad. Fingers crossed, I hope a few over there will come back here. It is possible to be on more boards than one.  I can't post petty politics stuff here now that Equality is gone. Not with his RIP thread right on the board. It feels wrong. I will probably post the more personal stuff outside politics, though. Like I need to rant about my hospital and it's general terribleness and I don't want to do that over there, lol. Do we know about the future of this board? Did Equality transfer it to anyone? Early on after his cancer diagnosis, Jon provided me with a password and access to an admin account... "in case". In his final post in public and in private, he indicated that he felt it was time to organize an official changeover. However, I believe events overtook Jon before he could act. I've been in contact with Scott, the admin of ProBoards and after some discussion, we've agreed to leave HUMAN VOICES as is, without an active admin. If there are any issues, I can always reach out to him or his team for help. PS - If it ever becomes necessary to install another admin here, Scott and I have discussed the steps needed to do so. |

I think that conversation is apropos anywhere, though. It concerns everyone sooner or later and to clear up this wishful thinking on the part of people who clearly do not understand that everything costs money is more important than ever, imo
True, but will those ignorant people ever really listen or change their thinking? |

That sounds like a good plan to me. We can do our thing here, and hope that the trolls don't decide to migrate. I may venture onto the other board from time to time, but right now this is home. |

My personal opinion, if we keep posting over here, the board can go on. In Equality's honor, I feel. For what it's worth .... there have been requests and questions on the Pro Boards Support Board about boards that have been 'leaderless' for years and years which seems to indicate that they can and do continue and someone suddenly sees the needs for admin tools. After reading the post by @ant-mac, I hope we can keep this place going for those who don't want to spend any time with the Sturm und Drang of the other board. Fingers crossed! |

I've been in online forums for over 20 years..........how often do you think I've seen people 'change their thinking'?

abbey1227, It is probably as rare as hen's teeth. But maybe some do. But it is discouraging to continue to have those conversations, trying to clear something up. Sadly, I think humans have always been this way, and it has always been a problem. And as the population goes up and the struggle for resources starts, things are going to get ugly. Edit: I thought I quoted you but didn't, so I came back and tagged. It's early; not enough caffeine and sugar yet.

Yeah, eight days and counting, two more to go... I don't think things are going to work out there, and though I will miss other posters, I just will not take a chance that Monkey's site is compromised, too. I'm just going to sit over here in my little corner, talking to a few friends, I hope some more might show up, and posting photos of idyllic spots. Hopefully merh will keep us supplied with adorable kitty pics, and ant-mac can post some photos of all the crazy animals in Australia that want to kill you. I will not miss this spring, the flowers, the trees and animals.  I just thought this needed a bump. The weather where I am is gorgeous today, the spring flowers blooming, my perennials in the shaded woodland niche are thriving. |

Yeah, eight days and counting, two more to go... I don't think things are going to work out there, and though I will miss other posters, I just will not take a chance that Monkey's site is compromised, too. I'm just going to sit over here in my little corner, talking to a few friends, I hope some more might show up, and posting photos of idyllic spots. Hopefully merh will keep us supplied with adorable kitty pics, and ant-mac can post some photos of all the crazy animals in Australia that want to kill you. I put them out back for the deer. I'll try to bury the bulbs for next year, but as they get big enough to eat, they'll be deer snacks. 🦌 Oh well, deer gotta eat too I guess. I am also going to place a salt lick and a deer feeder out there, too. My place is safe, no hunters allowed! Large trees and surrounding natural growth, no manicured yard here! My goats keep the front yard "mowed" and free of weeds. I love living out in the sticks. Owls can be heard at night; tree frogs are everywhere right now. |
