Spring is my favorite season. I love spring flowers, and everything turning green. I love the baby animals and the return of the birds. April is my favorite month I think. Have you posted pics of your baby goat somewhere? Baby goats are so damn cute. This stock photo is as close as I can get, hair color and such. Mine is still a bit smaller, but oh, what a lively little guy he is becoming! Leaping and twirling and dancing all over his pen! It is just me here, with the occasional presence of my rescue friend who founded a legit 501 (c) 3 some twenty-five years ago. Her rescue has adopted out over 7,000 cats since then. We help each other back and forth, when possible. And then my beloved vets... I was in at the clinic the other day, talking to one of them (she has an unofficial rescue farm for draft horses and some of the other horses). I mentioned a time when I was helping my friend at an adoption event and a film crew of students showed up, shooting a documentary for a class assignment. My friend was busy working with some potential adopters, and told me, tag, you're it. So I answered questions on tape, some very general ones about the organization and what they do. I ended by saying, "Our mission is to lessen the suffering of sentient beings, to find a loving family for each one that we can. We know we can't save them all, but we know we can make a difference to this one." The girl interviewing did a double take. I don't think she had ever heard the starfish story before. |

I think the whole politics board has probably moved to Monkey's board. They should just stay there instead of chancing V2 again. I don't have the intestinal fortitude for the politics board right now. I'm sick of Trump. I'm sick of drag queens and transgenders in every news cycle. I'm just over it. I figure if I come across a good You Tube video or need to shout at clouds on the interwebz, I can do it here. I'm at the point where I'm ready to drop out of society because I feel like it's not for me anymore. I just need a job I can do online, like insurance reviews or something. Yeah, I hear you. This is where I am staying. I have scanned Monkey's board; it seems to be the "same shit, different names" version of V2. I have increasingly dropped further out of society since I retired; I did a brief stint at a local newspaper but got frustrated by the editor who appeared to be a mini-Donald Trump. The other newspapers I had worked at had integrity, but real journalism is now as rare as hen's teeth. I take care of my rescue animals, do some artistic stuff with fiber art and quilting and take refuge in Nature. And right now I am consoling a long-time friend who has lost her best friend of 45 years unexpectedly and under stressful circumstances. She was supportive of me when I lost my husband, so I am just doing for her what she did for me many years ago. She is really having a rough time, and I get it. If my previous experience is any indicator, her anguish won't diminish anytime soon. So I listen a lot. Thankfully, she has a good therapist to talk to finally, but she is still in such grief. Take care of yourself, try to find some pleasure in Spring and come visit when you need to. And you and Marilyn continue to show up here. There are posters I miss from v2, but v1 is, well, disturbing to me. This place has kind of spoiled me. If some of the folks who signed up here on April 1 would come back here now and again, this could be a good forum. Though without Prometheus, it is different, sad. Fingers crossed, I hope a few over there will come back here. It is possible to be on more boards than one.  |

Politicidal is one of the more informative posters over there and doesn't engage in petty stuff. This is the place for ranting about your hospital and such, that other board is brutal. Too many openly ignorant people over there to talk about anything medical or scientific. Too many conspiracy nuts over there. Staus on this board is unknown at this point, but a little bird told me that right now things are "wait and see". My personal opinion, if we keep posting over here, the board can go on. In Equality's honor, I feel. |

I think that conversation is apropos anywhere, though. It concerns everyone sooner or later and to clear up this wishful thinking on the part of people who clearly do not understand that everything costs money is more important than ever, imo

My personal opinion, if we keep posting over here, the board can go on. In Equality's honor, I feel. For what it's worth .... there have been requests and questions on the Pro Boards Support Board about boards that have been 'leaderless' for years and years which seems to indicate that they can and do continue and someone suddenly sees the needs for admin tools. |
