FFS, I wonder who is going to end up taking control of it now. That will be the deciding factor in whether I delete my account there or not. I can imagine some bad actors jumping at the chance to get ahold of emails and IPs. I certainly hope there's transparency in who the board is given to if that's what happens.

I can imagine some bad actors jumping at the chance to get ahold of emails and IPs. I certainly hope there's transparency in who the board is given to if that's what happens. It'd certainly be an opportunity for a clique of like-minded people to swoop in and seize control. However, as always, time will tell. Especially onboard the TARDIS.  |

Hugs was the one who alerted everyone attending movie night. I think he's on Monkey's site. Haven't heard anything from carebear or carl. I thought Care Bear had registered at Monkey's some time ago? LMAO (bitterly), this doesn't surprise me, honestly. I feel really bad for the non-political posters. They lost their board, and it was probably the politics board that shut the site down, either because of whatever admin or PB its self. I imagine all the reporting got to be a fucking massive, five alarm headache. Not that it wasn't warranted with some of the bullshit getting posted there lately. Honestly, the addition of Frank, and then Rissa's recent disappearance pretty much ruined it for me anyway. I was in a toxic relationship with V2, so for me, this was probably a good thing. I got my night shift crew over here anyway 👍❤ I am so glad you are here! I hope more show up! I read the appeal for staff, but what staff is there beyond Admin and moderator? Frank was a major jackass, and I had put him on block, with just a few others. I don't report, I block and go on with interacting with others. But lately I had lowered my usage because Politics had gotten so nuts with so many threads and half of them were just a whole lot of name-calling. This is sad; so many conversations lost, especially PMs, and nothing archived - I never saw this coming. Too bad they didn't make the appeal for staff when the board was still active, they might have been able to avoid the shutdown. But some of my favorite people are here, so this is where I am staying. |

The unexpected closure of the forum and member response had caught the attention of the original forum creator. They reached out to us and I'm please to announce that they will return to the forum as its Admin.
Thank you to everyone who applied for a staff position on IMDB2. The amount of applications and overall interest in the forum is a testament to its community!

I think JC tried to pull a massive "fuck you" on everyone, but it backfired on him due to the authorities at ProBoards, but that doesn't mean he couldn't do something else to fuck us all over if he was inclined to... such as clear out and remove all public and private posts and reset everyone to zero, so to speak.
I hope to hell I'm wrong about this.

Aside from this being a problem for everyone who posts there, losing contact with others, there is a larger consideration. Whether or not what he is doing is legal or not, this behavior could be viewed as an indicator of psychopathy and other related disorders. And one wonders, when somebody sets up a new board with ProBoards, is there any kind of background check to ensure someone isn't just trying to get information on those who sign up? I have always felt fairly safe here, with my anonymity intact, but this casts doubt on whether any of us should? I don't post anything, including in PMs, that could be used inappropriately, but I am naturally leery of technology and of the intentions of others. And, yes, I have probably seen too many episodes of "Criminal Minds",  , but I have had personal experiences that have made me less naive than I was previously. |

I think if you're banned, you see a notification that you're banned. So you wouldn't see the maintenance mode notice. |
