Mark Leseuer aged 58

You guys didn't know him, but I did. He was a Kiwi who had traveled the world, mostly as a yacht captain. When he was young, he was living in Africa... I can't remember which country... fell in love, got married, and had 2 beautiful daughters. Sadly, those 3 lives were snuffed out by a landmine and Mark never remarried. He was lively and quick with a joke but you could still see that pain in his eyes.

He lived in China for quite a few years, wintering in Hainan and summering in Dalian. He was well-known and better-liked among the expat community.

He had most recently been living in Danang, Vietnam and fell ill last Friday. He was found dead in his apartment this morning when a friend came to pick him up for a doctor's appointment... Covid.

I know you didn't know him, but if you had, you would have liked him. So do me a favor, raise a glass of your favorite in his name.

Calm seas and following winds, my friend. Your family is re-united.
