you like Tequila, by chance?
Don't drink alcohol, remember? But yeah. My husband had to buy some when we went to TJ. But it is not tequila
See how many things you and I actually DO agree on? Well, behaviorally anyway

I like my head clear. I was given percodan for a wisdom tooth. Took me awhile to figure out it was the percodan making it feel like I was under 10 feet of water. I did not like it. I like my head clear. If that's what being high is, to hell with it. Watching drunk relatives will also stop one. Damn, they are stupid when under the influence

you realize that you're able to cope with life and be happy without substances?..........unlike most people.
And the problem people can not do without those substances. They want to avoid reality as much as possible.

It's also a learned response. We've seen the teen flicks where all the kids are trying to score booze or drugs because that is "adult fun" & teens want to be adults. So they are trained to believe that getting stupid on substances is fun. First Kiss concert I went to some kid in the row behind & to my right. Friends were "come on, Kiss is onstage!" But the kid sat there "I don't feel good". Seeing Alice once. Before the show I had to step over puke to get into the bathroom before the concert started. I didn't see the point in paying more than the cost of a record to see a band live, but be so fucked up on drugs &/or alcohol I couldn't remember having fun. Seemed really stupid. But hey, that is what they learn is a good time. Best line I saw on the subject was people drink to forget their problems, but the problems are still there when they sober up so why?

It was around before movies arrived, as well.
What a great time.........yakking before the show even starts Clowns
They learn it, embrace it and repeat it year after year after year. And this entire time, the Govt has wasted money on PSAs to prevent it
As I said, they want to escape reality....... just because it's the same or worse when they come down doesn't even enter into their 'thinking'.

My kid invited me to see Terrifier 2 Yep.Teen promises mom no booze & gets drunk plus friend slips her "half a molly". Girl loosens up. Feels real relaxed. Great in a slasher flicks, right?

That's what makes that "Let's hide behind those chainsaws" so funny in that commercial......it's so true

This could be a sign of what's coming for most. A guy with dead feet was left to suffer? So a nurse took his foot off?
Take her comments with a grain of salt as that sort of dark humor is what gets those people thru their days in these crappy working environments. WHERE WERE the doctors, administrators and everyone else while this guy's foot was hanging there black?

Sadly I've seen Medicare in action. Sonetime they won't approve stuff. Whether it's the system or the doctor in question, who knows? I know I felt VERY pressured to move mom to hospice where she died like the next day. I understand they are very heavy on the morphine/overdose

And I shouldn't have to say it........but clearly this nurse should have known better. She must have known she'd get in trouble. right? Unless the guy's foot was actually hanging by a thread.....which it may have been, what was she thinking?
You've seen it in action..........yet you want us all huddled under that same umbrella?
Just to be blunt........what do you think hospice is for? Did you want mom to be there for months and years? Or pass as quickly as possible?
I have a little insight into assisted care, as well. It's a great example of laws/regulations getting passed with the best of intentions.......and then there's the reality of our world. YOU wanna do that job? I don't. And the Govt's answer to understaffing and abuse? $Fines. So either the place goes out of business, or it's making so much it opts to just pay the fines.............because people are not flocking to that industry. There are nowhere near enough volunteers either. Once again, there's the umbrella millions are headed towards in the not too distant future.......and that outlook is pretty bleak, imo

My dad lived on home hospice for months. There was a problem in San Diego with that. Once a patient is moved to hospice they are supposed to die within a year. Too many here weren't. I would rather we have universal HMOs. Where the doctors are paid for their patients staying healthy.

it's a bizarro Catch-22.......... people aren't happy with hospice if people die right away.........or if people don't die right away.
So you want the doctors held responsible for the health of their patients? when it's the patient that's most responsible for their own health? This is where we part company on such issues.......... I understand WHY they just start writing prescriptions instead of trying too hard to get people to change their ways.

So pen #13 sheep Disease might be a cause, but they would all be dead by now if that was it. My dad hated sheep. Said if one went over a cliff, they all did, too stupid to not fall to their deaths.
