I could see where many businesses would prefer gender neutral bathrooms........so they only have to provide 1 location for everyone to relieve themselves.

That's pretty much the norm for bathrooms in restaurants China as they would rather maximize seating area. You don't see separate bathrooms unless the location is big enough (and expensive enough) to afford it. It's not a big deal. |

I would guess there's either A. Less plain old perverts in that culture/society? or B. much more of a punishment for those types when caught?
It can be a very tough choice or slippery slope when trying to find the 'happy median' that'd suit most everyone. And we all know you can never please everyone. So the biggest difference might be in how the very few are listened to?

So the men are allowed to peek over the stall at women using the facilities? No big deal? I have no problem with unisex bathrooms. Granted that's single user here usually. Our beach restrooms have stalls but no doors, meant to limit prostitution & drug use. |

Reminder Blue figure appears to be peeking over the wall at the pink figure. The commentary is not on separate small bathrooms because I don't know how long it has been since you have been in the states, but particularly with covid, but a lot in California they are moving to single toilet unisex bathrooms where one locks the door while using. Much like at one's home. So that isn't the creepy part. The creepy is blue dude watching pink figure Though it could also be seen as a very twisted humor |
