Despite the mechanic devices, ultrathin electronics and flexible materials allow the insects to move freely. These achievements, reported in the scientific journal npj Flexible Electronics on September 5, will help make the use of cyborg insects a practical reality.

The lid blows up not at the seam but at that indented circle that runs around the top.
No, the pinprick was trying to stack the rest of that 12 pk in the fridge but my fridge shelves don't like soda cans & they fall over so one escaped to the floor, sprang that invisible pinprick hole & fizzed all over.

The issue is the fizz. 
Apparently when it heats up, the gas expands & that must be more of a problem with Pepsi.
Only the Pepsi zero was fine. Just the cherry Pepsi zero exploded.

OLD WHITEY: THE HAUNTED CORPSE OF THE SS KAMLOOPS


The SS Kamloops has lain at the bottom of Lake Superior for nearly 100 years but visiting divers claim they are not alone when visiting the shipwreck. The body of one of the deceased crew members, dubbed Old Whitey, floats amongst the wreckage of the ship with some divers claiming follows them as they dive.

THE SS KAMLOOPS
The Kamloops was built in the UK for Steamships Ltd. of Montreal, Canada. She was smaller than the average boat sailing on the Great Lakes but had the dexterity to maneuver the smaller canals of the Lower Great Lakes and St. Lawrence River.

The main purpose of the Kamloops was to carry manufactured goods from Montreal over to Thunder Bay, Ontario. chief duty was carrying manufactured goods from Montreal up the lakes to Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada.

Shipping comes to a halt in the Great Lakes during the winter time due to the harsh icy conditions so ship owners push to get as much freight delivered as possible before winter sets in. The owners of the Kamloops pushed the ship to operate as late into the season as possible and it was one of the last vessels still operating in the beginning of winter in 1927.

The Kamloops last journey began in late November 1927, carrying a cargo of papermaking machinery, tar paper, coiled wire, shoes, piping and consumables. The ship was last seen heading towards the shore of Isle Royale at dusk on the 6th of December while a massive storm raged against the lake. The Kamloops and her 22 crew members were never seen alive again.

When the Kamloops failed to arrive at her destination on December 12 a search expedition was launched. Nothing was found until May 1928 when some fishermen recovered the remains of several crew members on Isle Royale. Five bodies were able to be identified and the remains were shipped to the next of kin. Four others who could not be identified were buried together at Thunder Bay.

In December of 1928 a message in a bottle was found at the mouth of the Agawa River by a trapper. The bottle contained a note from Alice Bettridge, the assistant stewardess of the Kamloops. The message read "I am the last one left alive, freezing and starving to death on Isle Royale in Lake Superior. I just want mom and dad to know my fate."

The exact cause of the ships sinking remains a mystery to this day.

DISCOVERY OF THE WRECKAGE OF THE SS KAMLOOPS

The SS Kamloops was added to the list of Ghost Ships of the Great Lakes until the 21st August 1977 when her wreck was discovered northwest of Isle Royale. A group of sport divers were carrying out a systematic search for the ship when they discovered the Kamloops lying on it starboard side at the bottom of an underwater cliff. The ship was 260ft deep, its detached smokestack lying a short distance away.

Due to the extreme cold and depth at the site of the wreckage it remains remarkably well preserved. Very few divers are skilled enough to deal with the extreme conditions. Much of the ships cargo is still in its hold almost as fresh as the day it sank. There are also human remains floating about the ship, forever held prisoner by the SS Kamloops and the icy depths of Lake Superior.

OLD WHITEY

As if it’s not spooky enough diving down to an insane depth in freezing cold waters the Kamloops has one famous corpse who acts as a guardian of the ship.

The body of one of the ship’s crew members floats around in the Kamloops’ engine room. The freezing temperatures have turned his body white as snow causing him to be given the name Old Whitey or Grandpa by visiting divers.

As more divers have visited the wreck of the Kamloops the legend of Old Whitey has grown. Some divers have reported seeing the ghost of old whitey in separate places to his corpse. Some claim to have seen his spirit floating along the deck of the ship or relaxing in the crew bunks.

Other divers claim that the corpse of Old Whitey would float along behind them as they explored, sometimes even reaching out and touching them.

In spite of this spooky behavior none of the divers felt threatened by the presence of Old Whitey. They believed he was happy to have the company after such a long time alone at the bottom of a lake.

Many divers make note of interacting with Old Whitey in their dive logs. They speak of “paying respects to Old Whitey” or “shaking hands with grandpa”.

It seems Old Whitey is happy to make friends with any visitors to his watery grave.

So wouldn't this increase hearing difficulty?

I have had a hearing loss most of my life. I got a lot of ear infections as a child, like screaming into a pillow painful 7 yr old. When I was 12 they took the last bone that wasn't eaten away & laid it across to make the connection but I have difficulty with conversational tones in a noisy background.

This would seem to add to that sort of loss.
They are giving themselves a hearing disability

I had tubes installed as a tot.    But my hearing is bad now from working in construction, I believe. Too many hammer shots and saw blades. I even blew out one ear drum in my 30s.

Me, too. ANY background noise or multiple people talking, and I'm lost......especially if I can't look at their mouth. Very uni-directional.

It's more important to be unique........along with the thousands of other sheep that'll jump onboard. See Sneetches on Beaches

Royal fans were spooked by a mysterious woman whispering a creepy message during ITV News' coverage of the Queen's funeral.

Conspiracy theories circled on social media when the clip went viral, with some even suggesting it could be the voice of late Princess Diana.

The moment was believed to be captured on ITV News as the news crew followed the convoy of the state hearse carrying the Queen's coffin to Windsor Castle.

As the footage played, a female voice can be heard whispering in a hushed tone.

She says: "The death is irreversible and the fact that she's trapped."

Rich, who is believed to be the first to tweet about it, claimed he did not edit the clip and he had taken it straight from the ITV broadcast.

"I don't know what she says is supposed to mean, and no it's not Diana," he said.

Viewers were getting the chills when they heard her saying 'the death was irreversible'

"Likely a guest in the studio not realising the microphones were live at the time."

The clip has since been viewed a million times, but many viewers still can't make heads or tails of it.

"I’m obsessed with this, what the hell happened?" one asked.

A second wrote: "Diana is that you? That's eerie..."

"Just rewind it four times and the sound just cut off," a third added and a fourth chimed in: "If you listen, she doesn’t say 'death iirreversible', she says 'THE death is irreversible' (i.e. the Queen’s) which somehow makes it even creepier."

Some agreed that they were getting goosebumps from the whispers but many brushed off the conspiracy theory of Diana speaking in the broadcast.

"Pretty sure it’s just the producer telling the presenter what points to hit - the tragedy of her being gone and the fact that the final journey is ongoing etc," one tried to explain.

"Probably came through via the presenter earpiece but accidentally hot mic’d so we all heard it."

It may seem like cooking up raw chicken in cough syrup is the stuff of nightmares, but videos purporting to do just that have appeared on platforms including TikTok and Instagram. Last week, the FDA issued a warning over the misuse of medicines as inspired by social media videos. TikTok condemned the Nyquil videos.

Nyquil, an over-the-counter cough and cold medication, is made up of a combination of acetaminophen, dextromethorphan and doxylamine to treat a buffet of symptoms. It isn't to be confused with a marinade

The FDA called the Nyqil chicken challenge "silly and unappetizing," then laid out exactly why it's a bad idea. "Boiling a medication can make it much more concentrated and change its properties in other ways," the FDA said. "Even if you don't eat the chicken, inhaling the medication's vapors while cooking could cause high levels of the drugs to enter your body. It could also hurt your lungs."

Procter & Gamble, maker of Nyquil, didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.

A scientific study has determined the scariest movie of all-time to be 2012's Sinister. The average heart rate of the 50 viewers was 65 beats per minute. During Sinister, that average jumped to 86 BPM, which equates to a 32% increase. No other movie saw these results.
