She said no, but he kept pushing...sounded like he got enough alcohol or such into he that she submitted on a single instance, not some long stretch. Not like he made a pass every day, more this was one occasion.

Well, a lot of times.......AFTER the fact...........people reflect on what they do and decide it wasn't what they should have done or really wanted after all. That whole hindsight and all that.

Ever see the movie Disclosure? Demi Moore and Michael Douglas     Very early take on workplace power struggles and sexual harassment complaints. I especially liked his female lawyer's story of how she wouldn't be married to her husband if the work place rules had been in place earlier.......because he had the audacity to be persistent and ask her out more than once.

I have been hearing about Doctors doing this over and over again under so many different circumstances. The desire to treat women as nothing more than mothers when some women don't wish to be mothers. I don't understand why Doctors would deny women the right to choose their own destiny freely.

It's infuriating as fuck.

So my ex-wife and I had our first son and she wanted to get her tubes tied. We were both 23 and the doctors literally would not tie her tubes because of some arbitrary (law?) about a woman needing to be a certain age and/or have a certain number of kids.

We went to 3 OB/GYN clinics only to be told no every time.

A couple years later we had our 2nd child when my condom actually broke. At this point we were both 26 and the doctors finally decided we met some requirement that was still never explained in depth.

I don't remember much of the conversation with the doc who tied her tubes, but I do remember that smug fucking response by the doctor when she said:

"Well, aren't you glad you didn't have it done earlier? God blessed you with a little brother for your son."

If she had her tubes tied there would've been a greater chance she wouldn't have gotten pregnant. No doubt we love both of our sons, but fuck do I hate that women are treated like brood mares.

And I'm a father to a 5 year old girl! Angers the fuck out of me.

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (WHTM) – A Pennsylvania man has been charged for allegedly assaulting an elderly Planned Parenthood volunteer.

United States Attorney Jacqueline C. Romero announced Friday that Mark Houck of Kintnersville was charged by Indictment with a violation of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act.

The law makes it a federal crime to use force with the intent to injure, intimidate, and interfere with anyone because that person is a provider of reproductive health care.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s office, Houck is allleged to have twice assaulted a 72-year-old man because he was a volunteer reproductive health care clinic escort. 

The charges stem from two separate incidents both on October 13, 2021, which occurred at the Planned Parenthood Elizabeth Blackwell Health Center on Locust Street in Philadelphia, where Houck allegedly assaulted man because was a volunteer escort at the reproductive health care clinic.

In the first incident, the man was attempting to escort two patients exiting the clinic when Houck forcefully shoved him to the ground. In the second incident, Houck allegedly confronted the man and shoved him to the ground in front of the Planned Parenthood center, causing injuries that required medical attention.

Houck was arrested and made his initial appearance in federal court on these charges on Friday.

“Assault is always a serious offense, and under the FACE Act, if the victim is targeted because of their association with a reproductive healthcare clinic, it is a federal crime,” said U.S. Attorney Romero. “Our Office and the Department of Justice are committed to prosecuting crimes which threaten the safety and rights of all individuals.”

“Put simply, violence is never the answer,” said Jacqueline Maguire, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Philadelphia Division. “Violating the FACE Act by committing a physical assault is a serious crime for which the FBI will work to hold offenders accountable.”

If convicted, Houck faces a maximum possible sentence of 11 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and fines of up to $350,000.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Anita Eve and DOJ Trial Attorney Sanjay Patel of the Civil Rights Division.

Clinics in Texas have been struggling with the demand for assisting rape victims.
"The numbers have stayed consistently high," a rape crisis clinic employee told The AP.
It comes as Gov. Greg Abbott pledged to "eliminate all rapists" as a result of the state's strict abortion law.

Clinics in Texas say the number of rape cases has remained "consistently" high, despite Gov. Greg Abbott's assurance that the state's strict abortion law would "eliminate all rapists," according to The Associated Press.

Last year, Abbott pledged to eradicate rapists after signing the state's abortion bill that bars people from getting the procedure after a fetal "heartbeat" can be detected on an ultrasound, Insider previously reported. The law has no exceptions for rape or incest — a restriction that abortion advocates and some in the GOP have condemned.

"Let's make something very clear: Rape is a crime," Abbott said at the time. "And Texas will work tirelessly to make sure that we eliminate all rapists from the streets of Texas by aggressively going out and arresting them and prosecuting them and getting them off the streets."

He continued: "So goal No. 1 in the state of Texas is to eliminate rape so that no woman, no person, will be a victim of it."

However, Texas clinic employees have expressed the growing number of rape victims has been overwhelming, with one facility near Texas A&M University having to deal with a waitlist, The Associated Press reported.

"The numbers have stayed consistently high," Lindsey LeBlanc, executive director of the Sexual Assault Resource Center, told the outlet. "We are struggling to keep up with demand."

As The Texas Tribune reported last month the state's abortion trigger law was set in motion after SCOTUS overturned Roe. v Wade, which also includes a provision that says that anyone performing the procedure could face up to life in prison.

According to the AP, citing the state Department of Public Safety, there have been over 14,000 rape-related crimes since last year. Democrats recently slammed Abbott for his comments that insinuated rape victims should take a Plan B to avoid getting pregnant.

"By accessing health care immediately, they can get the Plan B pill that can prevent a pregnancy from occurring in the first place," Abbott said. "With regard to reporting it to law enforcement, that will ensure that the rapist will be arrested and prosecuted."
