yeah, that is and should still be the standard and expectation. People are Adults at that point and should be prepared to take care of themselves by that age.

Back when our nation started, people were out working by 10 or 12. Inheritance? Who is expecting an inheritance these days?

People go where they feel they can get away with their crimes.

Besides, because of covid, more stores are offering Pick Up. Though, you may still get shot in a parking lot drive-by.

I loved the first two flicks.......it started to get a bit too hokey for me after that.

Amazing what they accomplished on such low budgets....and even made it a bit spooky/scary to watch

The 2nd movie is pretty much a remake of the first done with humor. And infinitely superior.
The first is an average cheap horror flick.
Which is a thing because one can gather a carload of friends, write a scary story & film it for next to nothing & people will pay to see it for the scare value. Like an addiction.  Get the adrenaline flowing.

I don't want my produce selected by someone else. Canned goods are fairly universal outside of dents.

You don't see it as he has his gun to back him up?
Protection becomes coercion? Might making right?
His word against the other person, but the gun makes 2 on his side?

CARSON CITY, Nev. -- A Nevada couple was found secretly keeping a cache of weapons and living with their two kids at a northern Nevada children’s museum where they worked, authorities said.

A janitor at the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada was arrested late last week, KRNV-TV in Reno reported Friday. The 41-year-old man has been charged with child neglect and endangerment and possession of a suppressor and a short barrel rifle.

Authorities discovered the arsenal in a storage room, they said. A police report listed an AK-47 rifle, three handguns, a pistol, ammunition, knives and a taser that could have been reached by a child. The stash also included drug paraphernalia like a bong and a used marijuana joint.

Officials realized the family was living in the museum after the man's 2-year-old child was spotted walking nearby unsupervised, the Carson City Sheriff’s Office said. It was not the first time police interacted with the man over his child being left alone. But this time, the toddler's older sister gave deputies the museum as their address.

Authorities, along with a museum board member, then walked through the property and saw signs people had been living there. Sleeping bags, mattresses, clothes and food were among the items found in areas off-limits to visitors, the sheriff's office said.

The janitor's wife, a museum manager, was also living there, investigators said. But they did not identify her or say if she would face any charges.

The couple has since been fired and the museum closed.

The museum's board of directors is facing questions about how this was able to happen. The group issued an apology and said they were “shocked and saddened.”

“We are looking into the best path to reopen in a way that not only assures the safety of all of our visitors, but that we as a community can be proud of as well,” they said in a statement.

The museum will reopen after hiring a new manager. But that won't be good enough for some parents.

If I had to peg it down to one thing, I'd say TV played a greater part in my viewpoint. Just saw a meme with Sanford & Son, All in the Family, the Jeffersons, Diff'rent Strokes and Barney Miller. I watched all of those shows and figure I learned something along the way.

The Dallas Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred over the weekend at an apartment complex across from Parkland Hospital.

At 11:39am on Saturday morning, Dallas police responded to a shooting at an apartment complex in the 2200 block of Medical District. When officers arrived, they located a trail and pool of blood, but no victims.

Around the same time, dispatch received report that a man and a woman were found outside of a vehicle near the scene. Both had been shot.

Detectives say a 26-year-old man shot a woman in the neck during a domestic argument. The bullet exited the victim’s body and hit the 26-year-old man in the leg, killing him. The woman survived her injuries.

The investigation is ongoing

I would think that'd be covered under the very old 'Golden Rule'...........or simply 'Love your neighbors as yourself'? Right?

Well, then we can all safely assume homosexuality has been around forever.

We all do that, though. Pick the parts we like. I see people use that method to be as self-destructive as possible almost every day.
