Evil Corporation Imprisons & Kills Millions.
UPDATE: No, Wait, It's Just The Government U.S. December 8th, 2021 - BabylonBee.com U.S.—Progressives and conservatives alike were concerned after it was revealed that there is an evil, giant corporation that is literally murdering, imprisoning, and oppressing millions of people all around the world. The corporation is run by corrupt people, accountable to no one, makes trillions of dollars every year, and continues to enrich its wealthy elite shareholders by exploiting the poor and the middle class. Even worse, it was discovered that this corporation has a monopoly. Everyone agreed that it's well past time to keep this evil corporation accountable and that it should be broken up to prevent future oppression by these evil capitalists.
UPDATE: Oops, never mind. Got our wires crossed. The corporation is actually just the United States government. Carry on, and don't worry about the fact that the government has a monopoly on violence and continues to rob from you and your grandchildren every day with taxes, inflation, unchecked spending, and unsustainable borrowing. At least it's not a corporation!

Ohmygod.
Now the Babylon Bee wants to defund prisons? Set everyone free?
Great idea
You DO know there are many for profit prisons operating in this country? That if states don't keep them filled to a certain level they violate the contract & have to pay a fine?

Your post in unclear? You wanna do away with prisons? or keep dangerous people away from society?
It's bizarre that someone in your previous line of work isn't more clear cut on this.

Sorry. I spent my day in a parking garage during a rainstorm having to type my post, hit enter, then wave it around to find the signal so it would post. Apparently the autocorrect fairy struck. DEFUND. It looks like Babylon Bee is pushing to DEFUND prisons. My kid stood up too fast, bonking head on top Dryer door, then a couple days later got bonked again so feared a concussion since headaches, nausea, & light sensitivity have persisted for a couple weeks. So loving mom drove kid to ER for a CT scan. I didn't even try to wait in a hospital waiting room. Considering the number of other people I saw waiting in cars, I'm not sure they were letting non-patients in. So 4 hours... They make appointments for that ER So because I was at the dentist getting a cleaning, the kid set it out a couple hours so we hit Denny's for our usual Grand Slam Slugger, then the ER, then I bought him a couple of Chipotle bowls-one for then, one for the next day. Then I got to drive home in the dark in the rain at traffic time I left for the dentist at 8:30am. Texted I was home to my kid at 5:50 pm. I do want to do away with private prisons Private prisons are in the business of incarceration, not rehabilitation. My prior job was rehabilitation

That sounds like a long, exhausting day. And you're retired?
This whole argument about public versus private is very much like the schools, imo.
You really think the Govt has been doing a much better job at either one?
Let's hope he really said those things.

First off, it's funny/sad how often tax payers get to pay for settlements........mostly because it'd be more costly to fight all these nonsense cases. Will you hold the states with the most lawsuits in a negative light?
And second off, I doubt there's a shortage of criminals....... just a lack of law enforcement. We've all seen how the police are being treated of late. Enjoy your new neighborhood conditions with many more of your former clients walking around free to abuse others.

You think crime continues at the same rate all the time? My clients lived all over San Diego, dude. Most were decent enough people. Maybe half were career types. Many were first timers mortified they were caught.

No it does not. That's why the choice of police, prosecutors and DAs is so important.
There will always be a minimum level of crime/criminals. How much you let it get out of hand is up to you.

See, there's a difference between us. You live in fear. I live my life. I don't walk around expecting crime to happen to me & when it does like identity theft, I understand it is random that I can't control. When I started with the county in the 80s, identity theft was them stealing mail, going through trash. My level of client. I got fewer & fewer of them because they moved to online/Interstate stuff that fell to the feds. My last theft was in one of the Carolinas. California isn't Escape From NY, dude. It's not run for your life level. The current crap making the news is big city stuff. San Diego has wealthy people like Mitt Romney, but it's not Los Angeles In the last 7 days there was a domestic violence incidence a few blocks away & a fire at a building/structure in an area that has businesses including restaurants. This year thru August we have had citywide (1,386,932 pop) Murder 38 Rape 385 Armed robbery 258 Strong arm robbery 353 Aggrevated assault 2847 Residential burglary 1085 Non residential burglary 1095 Larceny <$400 5374 Larceny $400+ 6672 Motor Vehicle theft 3970 Car prowl 5678 Final quarter isn't up yet Last year total 56 murders 485 rapes 1207 robbery 2556 aggravated Assault So don't believe the sensationalistic crap.

I live in fear? Says the person fully supporting these covid lock downs?
I don't expect crime to happen to me either, I'm a bit more prepared for it........Odds are you'll be directly targeted long before me, just because of location and gender and age. That's science.
You sound like you're gonna be OK in retirement, but you've never struck me as wealthy. I have no doubt the Romneys and Pelosis of the world have nothing to worry about in their neighborhoods.
The creep out of LA will likely ripple into your area eventually. All those homeless? Illegals? and drug users? Don't mistake me...... I'm not rooting for it to happen. Just seeing how your politicians are dealing with it. (Or not)
The crap making the news around here is in the 'big city' of Green Bay........supposedly just over 100,000. Shootings, stabbings and all sorts of fun stuff almost every day now. And yes, it creeps out into the suburbs a bit, too. Though my current hood is pretty quiet and calm.

So for all the drama about Frisco, you know our Capitol is Sacramento, right? There is a divide between SoCal & NorCal, mostly on their part. They feel we steal their water, but we send all sorts of money up to Sacramento which gets distributed to all those red counties up north that want to split off to become the state of Jefferson. So we are already part of a conurbation with TJ. So 8th largest city in America 2nd largest city in the most populous state 5th most populous county in America 2nd most populous western hemisphere transborder area 4th busiest land border crossing in the world. Busiest in the world outside of Asia(so why are we always hearing Texas whine?) And you want me to wait until L.A. creeps down here? You know they are like 100 miles north? That's a lot of urbanization. I don't fear dying of covid now I am vaccinated. It is stupid we are still dealing with this (we are entering the 3rd year. You realize that) I do worry about side effects/long covid. That glass lung thing sounds horrible & I need my kidneys. I feel sorry for the hospital workers. It is hard seeing patients die. It is a failure & failure on the job is hard. You on the other hand are always complaining about your gun rights. They're taking them away!

They do not need to physically be connected to you if the politics becomes the same.......you'll feel the effects all the same. We see this in places in Wisconsin.....and the Capital, Madison? It has much less crime than the places it funnels it's whack crap to, like Milwaukee, Kenosha, Racine and Green Bay. That's the luxury of being the capitol of the Hunger Games, huh? Shit runs downhill.
Why NOT? You can still get it. If you had co-morbidities before, they're still there. There's more variants sure to come. And an endless calling for boosters.
I am fully aware of how long this charade has been going on. Talk about grooming of people?
Why haven't the deaths gone down since the vaccine was put into use?
They're sure trying to continue to chip away at gun rights. After every school shooting. After every use of an AR. They will continue to try. No doubt in my mind.
This entire bit is funny........but the good part is about the 5 minute mark.
“A Winchester rifle should have a place of honor in every black home, and it should be used for that protection which the law refuses to give.” ― Ida B. Wells-Barnett

This is from a thread about a woman dying 11AM the OP asks for prayers over a woman who was hospitalized & placed on a ventilator, 3 months after her twin died. The OP rails against Satanic treatments & the withholding of ivermectin. "All can be traced back to the Fauci/Baric created bioweapon". Dead 12 hours later.
This stuff is hard on medical staff watching people die.

Are you aware of the thousands of reports of people having bad outcomes from the vaccine? Health Yahoo News Video CDC reports heart inflammation cases among young kids who got Pfizer COVID-19 shot
How about the sheer number of healthcare workers refusing to take the jab? Now why would they do that? If all they're seeing is death?
This notion of therapy for all is becoming far too pervasive, as well imo

Myocarditis? Something that is treatable & goes away unlike dying from Covid? www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/70/wr/mm7035e5.htmAnd it is caused by Covid-19? Want to try again? Spitfire is VERY anti-shutdown & not too excited about the vaccines. Medical professionals are human. Like some doctors smoke & eat unhealthy!!!

Nope, I don't wanna try again..........cuz I'd opt for skipping the shot rather than risking a heart issue with kids. Kids that are at almost 0% chance of getting harmed by covid.
More nurses than doctors. And then the doctors still die earlier.

Just 655 out of 74 million? Those are some pretty good Odds.
And over 740,000 of the covid deaths were over 50? Those are some pretty good numbers, too imo. The way I see it, people are lucky to get to 50, anything after that is gravy.....so over 90% of the deaths being those who were likely facing the Grim Reaper in the somewhat near future anyway?
We run that kinda risk every day and year with our dogs. We even play the Odds with their flea and tick treatments by skipping it in the late Fall and Winter.

What world do YOU live in? Anyone dies under 80 seems young to me. 80 is the benchmark. This isn't Russia, dude, where life expectancy is 72.79 The US is 78.99 so yeah, 80. African continent? I thought you were in Wisconsin
