The California Department of Public Health got a federal grant to develop and test a treatment. The treatment won federal approval in 2003, and California has been making it ever since.

But the market for infant botulism treatments is small, with about 110 cases reported each year, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. One course of California's botulism treatment costs more than $57,000, according to a legislative analysis.

I was just about to applaud this.............but then I see it's not really California stepping up. They, like everyone else, has to wait until the patent is up. And even then, THEY aren't making the insulin.........but instead another private company is doing the actual work. So the issue seems to be these patents. IF the US were serious about healthcare/medicine costs......it might take the Salk approach and label all life saving drugs as something for everyone to be shared.

I actually like the honest in this piece.........so I', supposed to be impressed by a treatment that ONLY costs $57,000?    That's about 1/10th of what they're gonna spend on some homeless junkie's apartment

I was just thinking about FDR last nite..........all the horseshit the MSM has peddled on his behalf. They covered for him in so many ways. So I guess the bias was apparent as far back as that? No matter how inept and ineffective he was handling the Depression.

You think Americans from back then would have voted again for a spoiled, rich, philandering cripple if all the dirty details had been exposed? I don't. I guess Kennedy was just a continuation of the trend.

Julie Green is an ally of the Republican gubernatorial candidate Doug Mastriano, who has aligned with the QAnon movement and paid the website Gab for followers. As for Green herself....she's, she's something else.

Julie Green, a self-proclaimed “prophet” and political ally of GOP candidate for Governor of Pennsylvania, Doug Mastriano, once claimed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) drinks the blood of children and has predicted multiple elected officials will be executed treason.

Mastriano, who was endorsed by former President Donald Trump in May and went on to win his GOP primary, invited Green to give the opening prayer at one of his campaign rallies in March, reported Media Matters on Wednesday.

Green was introduced at the Mastriano rally by campaign aide Vishal Jetnarayan who said “we’re so honored to have you over here” and told the crowd she is “a representative of God.”

During her remarks, Green told the crowd that “everything that has been stolen will be overturned by your hand” and Mastriano will be “the next governor of Pennsylvania.”

Mastriano has been the focus of several controversies in recent months for his overt endorsement of Christian nationalism and paying far-right social media platform GAB for followers.

However, Mastriano’s association with Green may be one of the most stunning revelations to date.

Media Matters, which has been tracking Green’s bombastic rhetoric, published several shocking clips of Green’s “prophecies.”

In February 2022, Green ranted about Pelosi in an unhinged “prophecy” that echoed themes similar to the QAnon conspiracy theory.

“They know Nancy can’t handle the presidency. No, they know she’s a drunk, but they know she is dying. And they helped with that. They are now disposing of anyone they feel is no longer useful to them,” Green began, alluding to secret cable.

“She failed the puppet masters with her two impeachments. That didn’t work. No. No assignment and anything they gave her. Against Trump, it didn’t work. So now she is seen as a failure. Her days are coming to an end and she will not last until the 2020 mid-term elections,” Green continued.

“She’ll be visited by the Angel of Death for her crimes against my nation. And the blood is dripping from her hands. She loves to drink the little children’s blood,” Green continued, adding:

By drinking this blood, they believe they will receive a longer life. Yes. True. Which she really is. She is part of sacrificing the children to Baal. She loved murdering for him. Media Matters reported on the many other elected officials Green has claimed will be killed for their “treason.”

On Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT), Green raged in December of 2021, “You betrayed your nation, and you made deals with people, like the Obamas, for money and to save your position and power. Yes, your fingerprints will be found all over the fraud of the 2020 election. … Your family will see along with the world that you have no soul left, and you will be tried for treason. Nothing can stop your fall.”

Green has made similar statements about Reps. Liz Cheney (R-WY), Adam Schiff (D-CA), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), and Jerry Nadler (D-NY).

“Jerry Nadler is about to lose his life for the blood that drips from his hands. That blood calls to me for justice, and justice is being served,” she said in March.

The list of elected official targeted by Green coincide with those opposed by former President Donald Trump, many of whom refused to parrot his false claims the 2020 presidential election was stolen

“The devil did go down to Georgia, but My people caught you in the act. Governor Kemp, I have warned you but you stood alongside the Red Dragon thinking you would be safe. You are not. The Florida senator is the chairman for the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC). The Washington Post reported on Friday that Scott's spending has been suspicious. The report goes on to reveal that Republicans are furious and demanding answers from Scott.

Critics of Senator Rick Scott, a Florida Republican who chairs the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), resurfaced a past Medicare fraud settlement from his tenure as CEO of a hospital corporation, as his committee reportedly is running short on cash and pulling ads in support of GOP Senate candidates with less than three months until the midterm election.



The NRSC is the primary organization working to raise funds and support Republican candidates in the party's bid to take back the majority in the upper chamber of Congress. Scott has led the committee since January 2021, but The Washington Post reported on Friday that campaign advisers are asking "where all the money went and to demand an audit of the committee's finances" as the NRSC pulls ads and runs low on funds.



Many on Twitter pointed to Scott's past Medicare fraud scandal during his time as CEO of Columbia/HCA. When Scott was deposed in 2000 amid the investigation, he pleaded the Fifth Amendment 75 times.


Columbia/HCA later reached a settlement with the Justice Department of $840 million in 2000, and another settlement of $881 million in 2002, with the combined fines totaling $1.7 billion. At the time, this was the record health care fraud settlement, although it has since been surpassed, according to PolitiFact.

"Rick Scott oversaw the biggest Medicare fraud in history, so the GOP in its genius put him in charge of its national campaign fund and now is wondering where all its money went. Incredible," writer Gary Legum posted to Twitter, commenting on the Post's reporting.

"There's clearly been some shift in momentum over the summer. But fundraising collapses like this don't happen in a week or a month. Did Rick Scott defraud the NRSC like he did Medicare? How on earth can they be out of money after a year of gop surge?" Talking Points Memo founder Josh Marshall tweeted.

"Rick Scott has gotten amazingly far in politics for a guy who perpetrated the largest Medicare fraud in history but I'm not sure why you'd put the guy who perpetrated the largest Medicare fraud in history in charge of a large sum of money," writer and editor Matthew Yglesias tweeted.

The Post reported that the NRSC has rapidly burned through its funds, despite its record fundraising. The committee raked in $173 million this election cycle, the report said, citing Federal Election Commission (FEC) disclosures. Despite that massive haul, the NRSC had less than $29 million on hand at the end of June.



An NRSC spokesperson told the Post that the committee planned to spend more money in support of Republican Senate candidates at more crucial moments.

"Our goal was to keep our candidates afloat and get them to this point where they're still in the game in all our top states," committee spokesperson Chris Hartline said. "So when the big spending starts now we have a fighting chance."



Newsweek reached out to Scott's press representatives and Hartline for comment.

Modern parents see kids as their possessions that will magically transform into adults age 18

Older days the kid was supposed to take care of the parent in the parents old age so the kid had to be functional.  

There was an old Jewish joke that the reason from having so many kids was sure, one or 2 might be criminals, but at least 1 would be a doctor.

Rachel Maddow reports on a panel decision by a federal appeals court in Washington that said that contrary to Bill Barr's public announcement that he had evaluated the evidence of obstruction in Robert Mueller's report and decided there was not enough to charge Donald Trump, Barr did not give consideration to such a charge before declaring insufficient evidence.

The FBI was heavily in favor of Trump.
Comey was trying to head off leaks from within the FBI with all that crap which ended up affecting the election
