The Russian dude I chat with was just telling me this is Putin's last run. How long a term do their presidents get? just checked, supposedly 2024. So we'll see, huh?
also this...........
During his first tenure as president, the Russian economy grew for eight straight years, with GDP measured by purchasing power increasing by 72%, real incomes increased by a factor of 2.5, real wages more than tripled; unemployment and poverty more than halved and the Russians' self-assessed life satisfaction rose significantly. The growth was a result of a fivefold increase in the price of oil and gas, which constitute the majority of Russian exports, recovery from the post-Communist depression and financial crises, a rise in foreign investment, and prudent economic and fiscal policies.

1. "Xi" is pronounced "shee" but the Greek letter is pronounced "kigh" (rhymes with "high"). I'm sure that the letter was skipped for two reasons: First: pronunciation as noted Second: In an effort to avoid racism... which has obviously backfired
2. Do you not read the news? Even your favorite alt-right sources are all over it.

1. It's not about being "woke." It's about avoiding racists like you who would be quick to jump on a "Xi Variant" as "proof the Kung Flu was an attempt to overthrow the Trump administration" or whatever your QAnon god would be likely to spout.
2. You understand that Yahoo News is just an aggregator, right? Anyway... I was talking about your usual sources like National Review et al.
But, as I was saying, if Xi can redefine "democracy," I'm pretty sure your Dear Leader, Der Drumpfuhrer, could give it a go as well.

1. Why couldn't it simply be just as funny and racist/anti-racist as avoiding Xi because you don't wanna offend the Chinese guy? Who, as an actual dictator, should be the last person anyone gives a F about offending.
2. While you do go off on the occasional rant that I see a lot of truth and merit in.........you're much more happily accepting of those redefinitions from the left.

1. Except that Chinese dictator has our balls in a vice, whether we like it or not.
2. You say "redefinition." I say "clarification." When one is in conflict with the other, I say so.

They've been groomed. The GOP made Putin their hero when Obama was president, pointing out how manly he was in all those staged photos compared to the Chai tea latte drinking, mom jeans & tan suits wearing Obama. They don't want to investigate the coup attempt because it will drag down too many of them. www.msn.com/fox-news-e2-80-99-sean-hannity-and-others-urged-trump-to-act-on-jan-6-in-texts-to-mark-meadows-video/ar-AARMveJEasier to buy the FBI instigated it all.

as I've said.......... I guess we'll see in a few years.
And all you have to do is look at America.
When a new administration comes in, they can decide to wield the DoJ as their own weapon and even change the law to prosecute former officials.
THIS is also one of the reasons the US is in a position of weakness with our president changing every 4 or 8 years. Other countries know they can wait it out....... and agreements/treaties the United States make with others always have similar expiration dates.
Would you ever trust the US to keep it's word at this point?

That's why so many masculine actors in the past turned out to be gay or bi.

So now you want President for Life? Russia has 6 yr terms so officially 12 yrs max, though Putin has manipulated the system to stay in power. So our politicians should be able to break laws? Wait, don't you want Hillary locked up for something?

Did I say that? I'm just pointing out a known factor in US Govt and politics. Just like all the freedoms we're guaranteed may actually be used against us to destroy the country.
Yes, he has. That part of the world requires dictators at the moment.......heck, some places seem to prefer it.
Should our politicians get to decide which laws to enforce depending on who the person is? Which laws to suddenly apply after the fact?
That argument is simply IF you're gonna lock up people like Roger Stone, Reality Winner and Snowden, how the hell do you excuse the more connected types?

Not "sadists."
Egomaniacs and racists (both parties).
They flocked to the cheap labor without the slightest understanding (or even a thought for) what they were getting themselves into. They had no concept of how the Chinese play the long game.
Americans were chasing the dollar.
The Chinese were chasing a completely different goal in which dollars would play a part.
It's the difference between tactics and strategy and it was a Chinese guy who wrote the book on both. And no matter how many politicians, or military and business leaders say that they've read "The Art of War," it's clear that they never understood it and we're all paying the price for it.
