It rained Tuesday & Today.  We had planned on laundry Tuesday. We decided to shoot for next Tuesday.

Gross how quick the whole 'heroes' thing turned around. Jason and Becky, we NEED you to keep McDonald's open or else more people will die in this pandemic. Oh and you will have more responsibilities with worse working conditions and also not get paid anymore.

We JUST had a meeting at work because one of the girls on the sales desk finally reached her boiling point after 12 years of abusive bullshit and is leaving at the end of December for a better job. As it turns out, the owner is NOT replacing her, and is expecting the remaining five staff members to take on her workload in the new year. This is the part when I asked if we'd be spreading her salary across the five of us as well. It was a very awkward silence. I expect I'll be pulled aside later and reminded that his door is always open if I need to have a conversation about anything (i.e.: be told not to bring up wages in a staff meeting ever again).

Crazy to think this still happens.

The store I work at locks employees in the building and they don't let you out unless every one else is also done with their tasks even if your shift is over. Is this legal?
Basically if you close and are scheduled until 11pm you can clock out but they will refuse to unlock the door for you to leave the building until everyone else is done. I always leave five minutes early to avoid being locked in the door and being held hostage because the thought of not being allowed to leave until someone unlocks a door for you freaks me out. My friend got off work the other night and clocked out at 11 and he was forced to stay in the store until 12am because the other workers were still busy cleaning or working on inventory. He told me he asked my boss to unlock the door for him and my boss was just saying "You have to wait for everyone else/ you really can't wait an extra few minutes?" Sometimes they will eventually let you out and unlock the door for you but act like it's so out of their way and an annoyance to do so. Is this legal?

Only one $1400 stimulus. The first two for $1200 and $600 were authorized by Trump. Biden said we'd get $2000 with the fine print being that he would make up the difference from the latter stimulus signed under Trump, so the Trump administration actually sent out $400 more per American than the Biden administration.

Schrodinger's unemployment benefits. When Trump sent out stimmys, it was great for the economy and hard working Americans. Biden sent out 1 extremely weak stimmy --> he is responsible for rampant inflation and has singlehandedly demolished the middle class.

And THAT's how you're supposed to handle yourself in the workplace........ it's a 2 way street. If they want more work out of you, then they better expect that you'll be expecting more wages. Nobody is a slave.......you can say 'No'. Haven't we heard enough over the years about No meaning no?

That was the oh,so scientific Fauci! Trump was pushing for people to get back to normal as soon as possible. That's why he went the all out dictator-route and left it up to the states to decide for themselves.

I've heard of a few friends and acquaintances getting those calls, too. A hospice care worker I know just got offered $27/hr........when just last year she was supposedly maxed out at $17/hr.

Are you interested in sitting for young children?

It's likely a very tiny percentage of covid sufferers that can no longer work. They're greatly outnumbered by those that choose not to work.imo

She likes to go, but she has to take the kid. If we want together I could watch the kid 15 minutes, then she could...then it came up again & it was half an hour.

I never had the sort of money where I felt I could throw it away down a slot machine.
