5. I do not understand the GOP at all these days. Very few of them are conservatives in any way, shape or form. McConnell, Romney and Graham have shown themselves to be total sell outs........ just like that dead hero McCain was for so many years.

6. I gotta give the Dems at least some credit here........unlike the GOP, they at least act on their rhetoric when it comes to policies and legislation being pushed in recent years. What have the GOP done but acquiesce and shift more to the left year after year? The Center is so far left now, just being a classical liberal will get you branded an extreme rightwing nutjob.

Maher is more tolerable to listen to than Oliver or many of the other late nite types these days........... but I think back to him being a mostly failed stand-up comedian and that he's been doing political commentary since the early 80s.

And what has changed in all that time? It reminds me of all of those anti-war types back then....... that are now part of the Establishment and running things...... like Afghanistan.

1. Failed? He parlayed his standup routine into a steady gig for a couple decades. He also still tours and sells out large venues. You have no clue what you're talking about.

1. Failed as a popular stand up[ comedian. He just wasn't that funny on stage. I'm more than willing to give him his due for the 2? series he's had now. I have no clue? So IF I asked 1000 people who they thought the Top 10-20 comedians of the last 40 years were? Bill would make that list for most? I doubt it.

2. What am I forcing people to do ........but for being more self reliant? If anything, I lean towards more freedoms than most.
