Vote with climate change in mind I'm eating less meat than I was a decade back. Am eating more eggs. I grew up in a home that did not waste food. Leftovers were normal. I am a horrible plant murderer. I can kill any plant. My dad had a green thumb. Not I. I have never flown.

Vote with climate change in mind 1. I never understood the "eat less meat" thing. Just sounds like vegans piling their cause on to one that has more traction, if you ask me. That said, I probably eat less than a kilo of meat per week and very little of that is beef.
2. I grew up poor. Wasting food is simply something I can't do. I'm even looking into way of reducing waste from my juicer
3. Like using public transportation or walking? Done. Also, my city's buses are ALL natural gas powered or hybrid natural gas/electric. Even many of the city's taxis are natural gas. Many of the street lights actually have solar panels on top.
4. I don't have private property but my city is known for being very green: lots of parks, streets lined with trees and shrubberies (Nee!)
5. I actually prefer high-speed rail when available and I think Covid has helped quite a bit in that area over the past 18 months or so.
6. Done, but not for Climate Change... just for my utility bills.
7. I always vote to change the political climate in DC

I eat more meat than I did as a youngster......but I've earned the ability to do so.
Eggs would be involved in similarly wicked farming techniques, right?
Us, too. With 5 kids and little income.......food was a valuable resource. McDs was a 2-3 times a year luxury.
Dad shoulda filled you with a bit of his knowledge, huh? We don't seem to have much trouble growing a lot of green bushy weeds here.
I have flown several times......even in private small piper cubs. My first retail flight was the best many years ago as Midwest Air had decent sized and comfortable leather seats. Now? It's a GD torture ride. And that's not counting the TSA experience.

1. I've seen the numbers on how much land and water it takes to produce meat. Don't care. I like me a cheeseburger.
2. Exactly. Sometimes I wonder if others have never really experienced any strife or poverty. I have.......and it taught me some invaluable lessons.
3. Where's the electricity coming from? I think the US is still about +80% coal fired. They've sorta put the kibosh on natural gas development, too. Odd since it can be found in the ground......AND also from all of the garbage we produce.
4. Is there a little path between them? Nuuuu!
5. Maybe if the US would hire Canada to provide healthcare?.....and China to provide high speed rail, I'd be a bit more open to the ideas? Though, I'll still say my preference is to ride alone in my own vehicle........even if it takes me longer to get there.
6. Precisely. Those who handle their own money (as opposed to other peoples' money) tend to keep tighter reigns upon it.
7. It's been a losing battle for decades now. The latest efforts to 'expand voting' is just another way to insure no real change will come about.

1. But it's not as if freeing them is going to make them magically need less water or land. We'll just end up with more rotting cattle corpses and an increase in the populations of dangerous predators.
3. a. All sorts of sources b. Not all of the gases from landfills can be converted (feasibly) into energy sources
5. And that's why people like you are considered to be part of the problem.
6. Luckily, I can afford it

I can manage tomatoes. Maybe in the spring I can pot a couple tomato plants. I did keep a rosemary Christmas tree alive for around 5 yrs. Mom was a child of the Depression. Meat was a big thing for her. She talked fondly of her sister working at a restaurant bringing home the grease & she & her brother picking out the meat bits

I wasn't a child of the Depression.........but good meat was still not something everyone got to enjoy on a daily basis. Americans must have shorter memories than most to forget how far we've come.
Sorta weird like how Jello became a treat everyone could enjoy thanks to capitalism.

OK
That was a weird connection.
My cousin used to work in the local big chain grocery store and had to produce pans upon pans of Jello for their sales. He couldn't believe how many people would pay good money for something they could easily make themselves for a much lower cost.

It's easier to buy cupcakes than make them for a party

Open a box. Add eggs, oil & water. Mixer 2 minutes. Bake for 30 minutes or less. Cool. Open a jar of frosting... Not that hard.

So you're disagreeing that Jello is easier than cupcakes?
