Mayor Bill de Blasio announced this morning that New York City will be requiring proof of vaccination to eat at a restaurant, go to a gym, see a movie or play, and for other indoor activities:

JoeBorelli - Mayor De Blasio is announcing that 69% of Blacks and 58% of Latinos and the majority of Bronx residents are ineligible to eat in a restaurant or go to a gym.

Will they now argue that blacks and Latinos are being oppressed because it's not nearly as easy for them to get ahold of an ID?

He didn't ban them on the basis of their color or ethnicity.

They just happen to be groups that are disproportionately affected .

If only we had a way to ensure that the poor had equal access to health care... like UHC or just setting up free vaccination stations like so many other countries have.

I like the idea of voter ID. I don't like the other usual conditions that go along with it that are obvious attempts to suppress votes.

You just don't want poor people getting a piece of your piddly little 12% tax contribution. Healthy people just might join the workforce and put you out of a job.
