Should I do a series about life in China?
Poll choices reflect my love for even the non-PC among us.

Should I do a series about life in China? Poll choices reflect my love for even the non-PC among us. Sure, why not. It'd make a nice change of perspective from the international rivalry that we keep hearing about in the media. It's seems that, from an international standpoint, China is not exactly flavour of the month. I have mixed feelings about the country personally.

Understandable... Australia is caught between two international giants. America is our number one security partner and China is - or was - our number one trading partner. It's always been a delicate course to navigate, but the last three or four years have been particularly unstable and unsure for both. And while I obviously want the best outcome for my mob, I'm also aware that that's only one side of situation. There are people on the other side who probably want exactly the same for their mob... and rightly so. So I want to know more about them. I may not agree with them on everything, but it doesn't hurt to increase my understanding... if I can.

Any particular aspects of China or Chinese life, you'd like to discuss? The everyday and the mundane. What does the west have in common with the east... and where do we differ? What did you find easiest to get used to when you first arrived... and what did you find hardest to get used to? I haven't really got a clear idea about all of this, but I figure we should start out with the small stuff and just meander along wherever the chat takes us. I prefer a journey without a clear-cut destination... they're often more interesting.
