Nearly 230 Republican lawmakers, including McConnell and McCarthy, urge the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade and 'release its vise grip on abortion politics'by Oma Seddiq Jul 29, 2021
Are these people AT ALL serious with this nonsense?
Or is it sorta like a rightwing version of virtue signaling?

if a woman want to abort..she should pay the bill for it. plus..she should be the one to kill the baby, and watch it die on the monitor. not the dr. then its between her and God

wow!
That's a little macabre
But not all that unimaginable in these early days of robotic surgery.

Meh
People are gonna do what they do.
I'm not really a fan of many of them from conception to 110 yrs old.
My main issue is expecting others to foot the bill no matter the choice decided upon.

whats a gop stance? im not partisan like dems are. to me aborting isnt something any govt should have a say in . its not their business. and by the way, no unwed mother should get a dime from govt until the "mother" proves that she has done everything possible to get the dad to pay up for the bastard kid. which means daddy is dead or in prison.

By your logic, no one should use a doctor to kill these lifeforms. Everyone should kill decreases, cancers, etc., on their own. How about miscarriages? How do you feel the woman should be punished for that?

Punished? Why should any woman face punishment for her body rejecting a pregnancy?
But others should not be punished by being forced to participate in similar female decisions, as well.

But my parents had the Rh problem so they knew miscarriages were likely. Mom's body attacked the babies because they were negative or some such. So those 4 miscarriages she had could have been abounded had she just accepted she couldn't have babies. Avoided What the hell, phone? Spellchecker is evil

Because teens are so good at decisions? Likely pressured by family not to have an abortion. Parenting is hard. There are times when the baby is crying incessantly where one is at one's wit's end. Look at sudden infant death. Look at all the women they keep finding who lost babies to SIDS that turn out the woman killed the baby.

19 is an adult, according to the law. Women supposedly mature faster than men, too
Who pushes that anymore? It was a newborn with the umbilical attached. Not a whole lot of suffering parenting had occurred yet
SIDS? Oh well. They're only harming themselves and their own family units. Why we ever cared what Casey Anthony got up to is beyond me

I was 19, 2 months shy of 20 when I got married largely to make my mother happy. The guy who married us said he had never seen a more reluctant bride. In the back.of my head I was thinking I'd put a year in to make mom.happy, then divorce. I saw things I found worrisome, but my mother said "I don't know what you feel for that boy, but that boy loves you!" Mom & I had a rough relationship. I loved her, yes, but she hated my personality. She later said we were too much alike so she was trying to prevent me from making the mistakes she made in life. So tell me what family can make one do.

And you didn't even need her permission to do it, cuz you were legally an adult.
OMG! That is one hell of an admission. And you stuck it out for much longer? How do you feel about both decisions now?
THAT is quite the statement by Mom. Was she right? Do you regret her tactics not working?
I'm totally the wrong person to bring family pressure up with. I've written off half of them completely. And I'm living a much more serene life for it.

After a year, I had too much time invested. He wanted to get married because he was 24 & living at home with mommy who turned his bed down for him every night & put his toothbrush out He cheated "every chance" he could. He never really understood the exclusivity of it. He was the same, just no longer living at home with mommy. He died couple months before our 21st anniversary, though we did separate at the 20 yr point. He took up with one of his girlfriends, moved out to El Cajon, signed a 6 month lease, but she didn't last a month. He went through the personals section looking for a replacement, but they all wanted stuff. They would sleep with him if he would buy them this or that. I think it was hard for his mom to admit I was better than all of them as I never wanted anything out of him. He couldn't believe there weren't dozens out there like me. He used to say I was a dime a dozen & easy to replace, but he found out. No. Mom was wrong & took it out on dad. Threatened to divorce him. I hated that. Dad worshipped the ground Mom walked on. She was totally shocked when the bishop that married us said that.
