AGAINST
I was just looking over my news feed when this headline caught my eye: "U.S. fencers wear pink masks in apparent stand against teammate accused of sexual misconduct," and I wondered if the fencers were AGAINST their teammate or FOR women's safety?
I read the article and the fencers really seem to be AGAINST their teammate, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they are FOR anything.
That got me thinking about other issues:
People are AGAINST white supremacy. Does that really mean that they are FOR racial equality? If they are, why not simply state that? Is there a problem with offering a more positive message? If they aren't then why make a stand?
I think that being FOR something might put the onus on people to actually do something other than yap and I don't think even many so-called activists want that, especially with everybody looking. Being a positive role model is hard work.
Maybe more people should try talking about what they are FOR, rather than AGAINST so that they have to actively model what being FOR something should look like. It might also help people take an honest look at their own thoughts, perceptions, and actions.
Thanks for reading the ramble.

That sounds reasonable... Putting a more positive or proactive spin on matters. I'm certainly not against that.

As is a slow fuck up against the wall... Although in the Territory, I hear that's the name of a drink. I'm guessing you take your life in your hands every time you confront some six foot six burly bartender with muscles on his muscles and ask for one of them.

Understood
So why am I supposed to feel all that much sympathy for every chick with a dick that gets throttled by an unsuspecting 'date'?

I wasn't aware that you were. I'm not. Honesty is the best policy. I have no sympathy for those who lie or mislead others.
