Currently, there's a massive Delta Variant outbreak taking place in Sydney and the state of NSW... as well as elsewhere. A large portion of those who have been hospitalized are in their teens, twenties, thirties and forties... as well as the usual number of older people. Of course... just as we try to kill the microbes and parasites that attempt to live off us.
That's what I've been hearing of, as well. And the focus of the hyping media has been on the sheer number of reported CASES.......as opposed to DEATHS this time around. My thought it "Well, if they had proper tests in place from the get-go, wouldn't it be very likely that millions more CASES would have been reported in the past?"
Shall I get totally snarky and link that Agent Smith speech?

"I never realized just how anti-social I was until a pandemic broke out.........and my life has barely changed."

I recently tweaked my strategy when it came to stocking up on supplies and put it into action on my most recent shopping trip. I conservatively estimate that I've been able to extend the period between shopping trips by at least three-fold, possibly more... if the worse comes to the worse. This lifestyle has always appealed to me, but I'm really starting to hone my skills and get good at this shit.

atta, boy!
I still remember at the beginning of covid, as people rushed out to empty shelves.......... my wife had already stocked up on literally months of toilet paper as paper goods don't go bad and will eventually get used, so when she saw it on sale, she just bought it and stacked it up.
And I already had a few months worth of Pepsi. So we didn't even need to go to the store for at least a month. And since then we've cut down our visits similar to your reduction.

Yeah, I already had plenty of toilet paper... and I'm literally the only arsehole in the house. Before this week, I found an average shopping trip would give me at least a solid two months before I started having to get "imaginative" with my diet plan... Now, I've rearranged my pantry and, on top of my previous supplies, I now have room for an extra 70 cans of various curries, soups, stews and other meals, along with an extra 8 kilos of rice. Overall, this comes to about 140 extra meals. I've also put a few more extras - treats mainly - in one of the spare bedrooms. So, I'm good for the foreseeable future.

What's your situation when it comes to dining out?......even for fast food?
I ventured out tonite just to see if anything tripped my trigger.........but the lines, even at 9:30PM here, were enough to send me back home without waiting. It's been like that since covid, too. But maybe Americans are truly just that much more addicted to heart disease and obesity?

But maybe Americans are truly just that much more addicted to heart disease and obesity? When the pandemic started, I skipped junk food for a bit over a year... Once things started to settle down, I went back to my favourite local haunts... McDonald's, Hungry Jack's, Subway and Domino's Pizzas. However, I find I've lost my appetite for Macca's and Subway and I just don't get into town often enough - or at the right time of day - to be bothered with the other two. I've never found the waiting lines to be that bad, especially at the time of day I normally show up, but why take the risk with Delta now on the loose? PS - However, I've been keeping track of the COVID hotspots around my state and the closest one seems to be nearly 200 kilometres from where I live.

the one major difference for this married couple.......we're both Nite Owls. So not having restaurants stay open as long as they used to........and grocery stores eliminating the 3rd shift/24/7 Opening has been a pain for us.
We used to go out to eat, sit down style at least 2-3 times a month. That's pretty much been jettisoned, too.

I've been a night owl for most of my life... since I around the time I turned 12. That's why I show up at the supermarket at 0600 or 0700 in the morning, depending upon which store it is. I get in, get my shopping done, get out, get home, put the groceries away and then hit the sack. However, things occasionally go haywire - like now - and my hours slip. It's currently 1640 hours, but with any luck, I'll still be up again by midnight, so I can enjoy the early hours before dawn.

Those of us who are just wired that way know what you're saying. Shopping at 3AM is the cat's pajamas.
There's something about going to sleep as the birdies are going nuts........and most everyone else is grumpily making their way to work.

I always return my carts, whether it’s the designated spots within the parking lot or back inside the store.
People who leave their carts haphazardly in between other cars, etc. should be executed.

Retain or return? A few letters make all the difference. Also your user pic is just hunky-dory with outstanding scarf work.

I feel fairly confident assuming it was 'return'.
IIRC, the poster is more of a shoe collector.........though a massive hoard of shopping carts is a funny picture to imagine.
