And Scotland has said that entry is only for people with necessary business and not for playing golf. If any country could handle Trump, it'd be Scotland. That's where his mother is from, so that is where he should stay. If they won't take him, we declare war.

It's a fun theory but I agree with those who think consciousness is not reducible to a string of 1s and 0s, which doesn't rule out a hologram but makes things weird.
But if it was a simulation, it's fun to think about why. Like maybe they're studying which genes work out best. Or maybe in the future folks put themselves into millions of VR's and tweak the time speed so they get to live infinite lives instead of just 1. Maybe the base world is post apocalyptic and not worth living in.

Maybe the base world is post apocalyptic and not worth living in. At the very heart of the "Matrix" movie series lies the question of which world is better to live in: the "real world" which is filled with constant danger and a good chance of dying young or living in the "fake world" that has hot blondes, steak, and bacon.
As a parable, one can see the allure of heroism inherent in "living free" (whatever that is).
But philosophically, life as a battery is pretty good.

I abandoned reality many years ago... And I stand by my decision.

Being the master of your own destiny?
To quote another episode: "Not that there's anything wrong with that."

Which would you choose? Red pill all day long for me. Get me some steak, sports, and hot brunettes.
