"We reserve the right to refuse service"
We've seen those signs, haven't we? We respect them and will continue to do so as long as refusals don't violate anti-discrimination laws, right?
But say, "No mask, no service" or "No proof of vaccination, no service" and people start freaking out like someone just dropped a boulder on their big toe.
Why?
Rights?
Bullshit.
Show me a person absolutely refusing to wear a mask and I'll show you someone that will say (or has said) something to the tune of:
"I don't want to walk around looking like some slant-eyed g__k/Muslim c__t."
Why can't these ignorant fucks perceive themselves as doctors instead?
Story interlude:
My brother and sister-in-law (who is Chinese) live about 20/30 miles outside Atlanta. A few winters back it was quite snowy and my brother and SIL went out one morning to shovel the drive after a particularly heavy snowfall. C (my SIL) saw some neighborhood kids building a snowman, and being gregarious and young at heart, she went over to join them. P (my brother), thinking it very cute, decided to capture the interaction on his phone.
As C approached, one little girl pulled her scarf away from her face and asked, "C. Why are you wearing that mask? Are you a doctor?"
As C approached, one little girl pulled her scarf away from her face and asked, "C. Why are you wearing that mask? Are you a doctor?"
C responded, "Why you wear scarf over your face?" (Yes. Even after all this time, she still makes grammar mistakes.)
"Because it keeps my face warm and breathing cold air hurts."
"Me too."
In the video that my brother shared, you can see the little girl pondering this for a moment and then see her eyes widen with understanding. "Do you have another one? I'm tired of spitting out wool."
That's where the video ends, but P told me that C went straight back to the house and got masks for all the kids. Once the snowman was built and everyone had a snowball fight, the kids went back inside for lunch. C got right online and ordered a bunch of fun-themed, re-usable, cloth face-masks and gave them as gifts to all the kids on the street when they arrived a couple days later. The kids loved them and a few moms even ordered some for themselves and even a few dads got into the act.
Guess what neighborhood has had zero cases of Covid?
Back to the rant....
Anti-vaxxers should just call themselves "anti-intelligent." They don't understand (nor do they seem to want to understand) how vaccines work and at this point seem to be anti-vax based purely on ideology: "If libruls say it's good the I ain't gonna do it!"
And I just saw this interaction in my newsfeed:
Doocy: 99% of people who are dying are unvaccinated
Kilmeade: That's their choice!
Doocy: They don't want to die. The admin and gov't says mask mandates are to protect the unvaccinated
Kilmeade: That's not their job, it's not their job to protect anybody!

I can't wait for all these Republicans to kill themselves off so that we can get onto the business of building a great country.
