And yet I've heard elsewhere that the Biden Administration is dealing effectively with any "border issues"...I guess it all depends upon who you listen to. And this issue of invasion by illegal immigrants dates right back to the first pilgrims.

Texture is a huge thing, imo
Bananas are acceptable when they've still got some firmness left.........but as soon as the spots start showing up and they get mushy? Forget it. Time to make banana bread with walnuts.
I do like banana flavored taffy and when I can find it, ice cream.

I understand completely. I was the same way. Beans, I learned to love many years ago, but bananas are a fairly recent thing for me. It's a single-serving snack with its own packaging. Well, I've always fund every aspect of bananas - smell, taste, texture - absolutely repulsive... But I don't mind admitting to being... bean-curious. All we are saaaaaying is give beans a chance! |

But I will offer you this...... I do believe many Asian countries are clearly much better at 'societal evolution'.........but whether that's a good thing or a bad thing is very subjective, imo

Maybe their 'evolving' stopped at being better behaved and conforming to Govt force better? While some places have pretty strict punishments in place (for spitting on the sidewalks, as an example) there is also the responses we see whenever there's a tragedy of epic proportions. No looting, less crime overall and certainly more peaceful coexistence in larger population centers. Or should we just credit that to less diversity?
Is there such as thing as the "American Way"?
As far as evo vs assimilation........ that sorta comes down to the gifted few thinking up and inventing newer better things.......and then the masses either adapting or rejecting them. So it's tough to credit the entire population either way.......keeping in mind the constant percentage of those that seek out criminality and non-conformity.

1. you say, "conforming to their government," and I say, "conforming to their cultural norms." Yes, in the case of East Asians, the cultural norm is to accept the orders given to you by those in authority... sort of like the military but with everyone doing it.
As for responses t disasters, it comes down to respecting your fellow countrymen.
Diverse people can be respectful of everyone else if they wanted to be.

3. Was that some sort of racist dig at the Chinese?... that because they are no longer at the forefront of innovation that they aren't "gifted"?
