Reuters Videos Huge spider web blankets bushland in Australia Wed, June 16, 2021, 1:01 AM
Thousands of spiders and their webs have blanketed bushland in Australia's state of Victoria, after heavy rain and flooding hit the region.
The spiders moved to higher ground to escape the saturated ground, local media reported, spinning giant cobwebs in order to shelter themselves from the damp.
A low pressure weather system brought flooding in Gippsland last week, leading to at least one fatality, and an evacuation order issued for residents in the town of Traralgon.

Actually, there's been a scarcity of "neighbours" about the place lately... I wonder if it's got anything to do with the dead Huntsman hanging on the wall next to the fridge...? PS - Ever read the John Wyndham novel, WEB?

Not one of his strongest efforts, but it's still a charming little tale... unless you have a thing about our eight-legged friends. It was actually published by his estate in 1979, ten years after his death.

Prometheus, Ever heard the original version of that song? It has a verse dealing with aboriginals. Today, it'd be considered "problematical", just like its creator.

Let the xxxx go loose, Lou Yeah, that's the one... As a kid I had a record with the original lyrics. I certainly wouldn't sing that verse these days.

Not bad... Mum's favourite was TWO LITTLE BOYS and I'm partial to SIX WHITE BOOMERS. Meanwhile, I think Rolf was partial to the young girls... I think he wanted to show them his extra leg.

If you never saw his add for British Paints, that previous line won't mean a damn thing to you.

And I have actually played the wobble board a time or ten but I don't recall it having anything to do with my sexual preferences. You Aussies are weird.

1. 2. When I was asked as a little boy what I wanted to do when I grew up, I replied, "I want to serve as a warning to others." I believe I've accomplished my goal.
