The Conversation US bishops set collision course with Vatican over plan to press Biden not to take CommunionSteven P. Millies, Associate Professor of Public Theology and Director of The Bernardin Center, Catholic Theological Union Tue, June 15, 2021, 3:01 PM A rift between conservative American bishops and the Vatican could be laid bare on June 16 as the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops meets amid talk of a growing divide in the church over Pope Francis’ leadership. During the virtual event, U.S. bishops are expected to approve a motion to begin drafting a document on “Eucharistic coherence” that would exclude Catholic political figures who support abortion rights from receiving Communion. If they do proceed, the bishops will have opened a breach with Pope Francis and the Vatican, which has all but instructed the bishops not to go ahead with the motion. They would also be putting the Catholic Church in the United States in unprecedented territory regarding its relationship with the wider Catholic community.
At what point do basic religious beliefs get back down so far as to make the entire church irrelevant?......as in, if your beliefs are no longer your beliefs.......WHY even bother with that church anymore?

I do find it a bit bizarre how so many churches keep backing down on many topics...........to keep asses in pews? to be progressive?
Especially when I know one can simply start their own religion/church in the US. L. Ron did fer Chrissakes

Why worry about it?
You confuse 'worry' with just posting things to converse about.
I'd be fine if ALL religion disappeared from the Earth tomorrow
Then people could kill each other over truly important reasons....... like eye color? or height? of language?
