Well, it's one way to get the economy ticking over. Years ago in Australia, they had a government drive to increase population growth. The slogan ran something like, "Have one for Mum, one for Dad and one for the treasurer..." I knew he was an ugly prick, but I didn't think he was that desperate for a root.  |

1. I was always one of the few 'Righties' that was all for cutting the military spending by up to 75% or more........ I just refused to allow all that savings to then be spent on Welfare. You'd think some of the Lefties would have at least given me some credit for that?
2. My common sense doesn't work for everyone.........so it should be mocked and ignored entirely.

1. Provided the Debt was paid off, and then a large amount of money was set aside to pay for UHC, I'd be fine with tossing at least 10-20% of that former military spending on social programs. Also, provided that taxes on Individuals never exceed 20% on anyone at that point, as well.
2. I think it used to be slightly more common. If you had little to none........you rarely made it past 20.
3. The replacement products are even worse, though! Margarine? Bad! Olestra? Anal leakage!? I think I'll stick with butter.

1. Again...... I'm more open to the idea....... I just prefer it reasonable, sustainable and efficiently paid for. Waiting for THIS Govt to get around to it is a waste of time & energy.
2. You and me both. I wouldn't change a thing, though. Concussions are good for the soul and the best lessons often include a scar or two.

Frankly I am very, very surprised the abortion argument has remained for so long. But the reasons behind the argument have shifted a bit.
