The State Trooper invited woman back to his home in exchange for dropping DUI charge, SC cops sayHayley Fowler Thu, June 3, 2021, 5:17 PM A former state trooper in South Carolina is accused of inviting a woman over instead of booking her at the county jail after he arrested on her on suspicion of a DUI. Donovan Jordan Hadley, 25, was arrested Wednesday and charged with misconduct in office, the South Carolina Department of Law Enforcement said in a news release. SLED agents booked Hadley at the Newberry County Detention Center — the same jail where the alleged misconduct occurred. Surveillance footage from the detention center and Hadley’s car camera reportedly captured the events from last summer. According to an arrest warrant, Hadley arrested a woman on a DUI charge and took her to the Newberry County Detention Center on July 26. Newberry is about an hour northwest of Columbia. But instead of booking her, SLED agents said he “asked if she would like to go back to his house.” She reportedly declined the offer, and Hadley drove the woman to her cousin’s house “where he hugged her and complimented her appearance,” officials said. According to the warrant, the trooper later texted the woman and offered to dismiss the DUI charge and give her license back if she came to his house. The S.C. Highway Patrol subsequently asked SLED to investigate the incident.

Give a person just a little power over others.........and it's bound to be abused. Like kneeling on a suspect's neck for nine minutes, thus killing him?

Exactly.
Notice, too...........that was one of the few times it seems everyone was in universal agreement that the cop was wrong and deserved charges.
And then BLM and others had to go rioting and lighting buildings on fire?

Oh, no. I'm quite sure, by the Govt's definition, I have plenty of fire and bomb making materials within my home.

When confronted with the opportunity to go nuclear......... is your first thought regarding your own moral code?
Or does the weight of your family and what they'd think also enter into it?

I'd like to think that my family would get consideration, but I also know that some things are done in the heat of the moment.
Granted, creating a WMD requires that the heat be intense and the moment long, but psychotic breaks can last a while....

I used to throw out the phrase "They better hope I'm never diagnosed 'terminal'." It was a fantasy of mine to get my hands on an older Oldsmobile 88, strap a tractor tire to the front and back and then get up onto the interstate and insist nobody clog the Left Lane.
Bob Dylan? When you got nothin'....... you got nothin' left to lose.
I see this as why most conservatives do not present themselves as the dangerous types the Govt insists that they are.......because they do have family and assets that they've earned/acquired that they don't want to lose or endanger. Whereas all the constant crime and damage we see from typical criminals is because they have no assets to lose........and they clearly do not care about the harm their actions will do to their family members. In fact, it could be argued they've now started to hope for and count on a public tax payer Pay Day should they push things far enough.
