After my break-up with my ex - 19 years ago today! - I went back to study. I spent a couple of years studying Aged Care and related topics... and if there's one thing I learned from that time, it's that I plan to keep the fuck away from Aged Care Facilities if and when my time comes.I'd sooner die in a locked room full of cats than let those fucking "care givers" near me.
While I used to chat with a young woman from Canberry...... I don't have a sense of what the youth are like in your country.
But here? and trusting them to care for us later in life? Insanity
I won't trust many of them to make me a burger

The only reason I own property, is so I can tell the world to kiss my arse. When I shut the door on the outside world, I don't have to pay attention to it. I'd never want to own it for business purposes. Myself as well.
I would never want the hassles of being a landlord, but I wouldn't mind playing with the mice in my own back yard.
It's an interesting way to kill some time. And I never cease to be surprised at just how much we underestimate other species.

Back when I was married and owned a house, I would smoke outside on the porch. I made friends with a squirrel who would drop by for a treat while I drank my cup of tea and smoked my cigarette.

I should have stated strictly US properties.........and I've heard the 'I never wanna be a landlord".......which I totally get, especially as the laws keep expanding the 'rights' of lowlifes.
But one area where I've seen regular people make great leaps in personal wealth is in property ownership and rentals.
If there was a trusted and reliable way to do it from afar without the usual worries, it'd be better than the stock market, imo.
My exterminator acquaintance was telling me he doesn't even have to work anymore, and his properties have had the same reliable renters for years. They're all paid off and he even gives them all the month of December 'free' rent because he appreciates their loyalty.

I'd say of the young in this country... there's a mix of good and bad in them, the same as every other generation. However, they seem to have even more of an overreliance on technology than any other generation that came before them has. In fact, you'd probably have to perform a surgical procedure to remove it from their possession. And if you did take away their smart phone, tablet or computer... most of them would probably be at a real loss for what to do.

Yeah. If I could afford a "property manager" it might be worth it, but I don't have that kind of dough.
