There's a line in "The Queen" (2006) where Tony Blair (Michael Sheen) defends the queen by saying, "That woman has given her whole life in service to her people. Fifty years doing a job SHE never wanted! A job she watched kill her father. She's executed it with honor, dignity, and, as far as I can tell, without a single blemish, and now we're all baying for her blood! All because she's struggling to lead the world in mourning for someone who... who threw everything she offered back in her face. And who, for the last few years, seemed committed 24/7 to destroying everything she holds most dear!"
That someone was, of course, Princess Di, and it's true that she spent a lot of time trying to "expose" the Royal Family.
But to what end? She, of all people (being from a noble family), knew exactly what she was getting into. Her job was to be a broodmare, add a dash of respectability to Charles, and shut up about it... even in divorce. But she couldn't. She was "glamorous" and in the public eye and decided to use her platform not only for charitable work, but as a way to get back at the Royals even though it was her own parents who basically sold her into servitude.
Now it seems Harry and Meghan are hell-bent on continuing that crusade... and because they are "glamorous" (and "woke"), the world seems intent on listening to them even though many of their "revelations" to Oprah have been summarily debunked.
Now it seems that Harry has PTSD. It's not from his time in the military. It's not from losing his mother at a young age. It's from being brought up as a Royal.
Oh the horror. He was brought up with the best of everything and other than some token military service (which he CHOSE to extend) all he ever had to do was smile and wave and possibly say a few words about charities. BFD. There are kids and adults all over the world suffering a lot worse without ever possibly having the chance for one iota of his lifestyle that are NOT suffering from PTSD.
Or maybe we are. If Harry has PTSD from his upbringing, maybe we all have PTSD from our upbringings. Maybe there's a scale of PTSD like autism (which, sooner or later we will all be on)?
I really think that Harry and Meghan are in love and I wish them and their children all the best. I hope they all find happiness.
But I don't think that spending all of their free time slagging their families is the best way to achieve it. Take a tip from Disney and let it go.

Something I've come to the conclusion about woke people these days........... they'll never be happy.
Also, for as much as the world was in love with Lady Di........... I don't get the appeal of such damaged goods.

Are you sure Harry's not suffering from PTSD because he's a ginger? That lot have never been quite right, if you ask me... But don't tell abbey1227 I said anything.

Nobody ever bought that argument of mine ........that I belong to one of the smallest and most abused minorities on the planet.

I didn't hate her, or want anything nasty to happen to her, I just wasn't that taken by her. I think Charles and Camilla make a much better couple... good luck to them.

The fact that Charles would rather that......... leads me to believe there's something not quite right with him, too

I recently compared photos of a young Diana with photos of a young Camilla. I much preferred the photos of young Camilla. And as for Charles, the heart knows what the heart wants. And it seems he wanted Camilla for most of his life. I know I wouldn't have wanted to spend my life with someone like Diana.

Not that I recall... Although it reminds me of the "Kick A Vic" movement here in South Australia, after Victoria stole the Grand Prix from SA, at some point back in the 1990s. There were even T-shirts. As a Victorian, I felt it was the greatest act of unjust persecution in the history of the world...

Interesting theory.
So you ask women for olde photos of themselves before determining their physical appeal?
And we're joking.........but I get what you're saying. He has stuck with her for a very long time.........longer than his wife, even.

I don't actually take an interest in women based solely on their physical appeal... after all, we're all going to grow older at some point, if we're lucky. I just happen to come across some comparison photos and liked the ones of Camilla more. Meanwhile, Charles and Camilla look like a couple who not only love one another, but actually like one another... while Charles and Diana just never looked comfortable together.

YEAH, it was clear from the get-go that it was an arranged marriage and she was simply a breed mare.

They're welcome to their royal lifestyle. Personally, I couldn't imagine too many worse options... I'm far too fond of my anonymity.
