Do you think she is being chauffeured around in an electric vehicle?
These people are longing for the days of Jimmy Carter's economy

Why?

I'm sure you think you've got some sort of "gotcha" so let's hear it.

What's the gotcha? It was a stupid and arrogant thing to say.
Millions of Americans are going to get bent over with rising gas prices.
And if even 1/4 of the country immediately switched to electric vehicles.......... the grid likely couldn't take the strain.

Seems like the electric companies, auto manufacturers, and even MIT think that crashing the grid would require for about 75% of all cars, trucks, and SUVs currently in the US to switch to electric all at the same time... or within a very short time.
It seems that increasing temperatures have taught the electric companies how to deal with excess demand without always having to resort to "rolling brown-outs."
It seems those college-educated electrical engineers are pretty smart.

I was gonna mention those brown-outs myself.........as all those learned experts haven't completely solved them, have they?
And rising temps? It's climate change now! Get with it. That means it covers lowering temps, too.
The climate changes, it always has. I do not doubt that going from a few hundred thousands people burning firewood......to over 7 billion trying to live 1st world lives affects things. But nobody has ever really put a percentage on that, have they? And they've certainly stopped even bringing up shrinking the human population.
I highly doubt that the people in DC have any answers....... I also feel higher taxes won't fix a GD thing.

I mentioned rising temps because that's what usually causes grid problems, particularly in summer because more people turn on their air conditioners and fans all at the same time. Cold temps cause a rise in usage of fossil fuels as the majority of homes in the US still use them. Cold temps don't cause as large a surge of electricity as hot temps do. It's kind of simple to follow. You don't even need a fancy degree from MIT.
Taxes weren't mentioned at all so I have no clue why you're bringing them up.
