There seems to be a large outcry for teachers to spend time teaching about racial oppression these days... and climate change awareness... and all sorts of other topics. And even if there weren't an outcry, it seems that teachers spend a lot of time teaching their opinions in class anyway.
Why is this allowed?
Why does anyone think it's necessary?
Don't facts just speak for themselves anymore?

They have their own heavily biased facts to pass along.
I consider it an absolute privilege/delight to recall the vast majority of my teachers during the 70s and 80s never even tipping their hands towards any sort of political bias or beliefs.
Now? I think it's clear which group of people has taken over that field.

It doesn't make a difference which group "has taken over the field."
There's no bias in the fact that slavery existed and that many in the US benefited from it. There's no bias in the fact that slavery is wrong.
Don't blah blah blah at me about what people are doing. I know. That's why I made the post.
Keep up.

There's no bias in the fact that slavery existed all over the planet.....in many forms.......probably ever since people gathered in 'societies'.
I was even thinking about how the UK likes to brag about getting rid of it years before the US........but ignores how they simply exported it out to places like India. Out of sight, out of mind?
Is slavery always wrong? This is a discussion worth having. Indentured slavery was an agreement between two parties? Young people today say that being in the workforce is similar to slavery?
I can't keep up when you run so fast. I'm obese and out of shape.

I can't keep up when you run so fast. I'm obese and out of shape. 1. And?
2. When you hear a Brit say that shit, you need to remind them that several US states outlawed it nearly 50 years before they did and that the US outlawed the importation of slaves before the UK did. THEN you can go on to talk about their history of genocide.
3. Slavery is always wrong.
Indentured servitude was different, but not by much.
If they don't want to work for minimum wage, they can apply someplace else. That's their right
4. If only my body could keep up with my mind....

Here I thought I'd at least get one of those "Yeah! I've been married before." replies
