This headline pissed me off:
The "critical" in "Critical Race Theory" has NOTHING to do with the "critical" in "critical thinking"!!!
The "critical" in CRT has to do with criticism while the "critical" in "critical thinking" has to do with rationality.
CRT has to do with narratives and perceptions while critical thinking has to do with research and utilizing scientific rigor.
But if you conflate the two meanings and no one bothers to look them up, you end up with a population believing they are the same and that's obviously what the writer of the above article wants us to believe.
I saw that headline on Yahoo went to the article and immediately scrolled to the bottom to find this: Yet, there's another article about Biden picking a dandelion for his wife that is open for commenting.
It seems that Yahoo doesn't want anybody pointing out the problem I have mentioned... or any of the other problems inherent in CRT.
I've said it over and over and over: the people who insist on having a "serious dialogue" on an issue only want to provide a monologue.

Between the headlines and the 'newspeak'......... you've pointed out exactly what they've been doing.
I'll discusss anything, with anybody.
But I won't allow smoke to be blown up my ass........or in other words "Don't piss on me and try to tell me it's raining."

and by the by..........how sick and twisted are they?
They really figure if they isolate people who disagree with them? or don't allow like minded people to affirm each other, those feelings and views will just go away?

I think they understand that those who disagree won't go away, but they also know that they need to arm themselves and those that they support with ammunition before the battle is engaged.
It's also helpful if you inspire some hatred of the enemy. The fact that the hatred of the enemy is based on a falsehood is immaterial.

I think they're calling that 'unity' now.

All the special interest groups will band together against the oppressive straight, white patriarchy.
But when they "win," the white feminists and white LGBTQ+ folk are going to find out that they are the new enemy simply because of that singular adjective.
But it has nothing to do with bigotry or racism.

well, if people had been paying any attention to history.......... they'd know what happened to many of the original 'brown shirts'...........or the Reds vs Whites after the great success in 1917.

THAT would require critical thinking.

As someone raised in the Soviet Union I find this tragically recognizable.

As someone raised in the Soviet Union I find this tragically recognizable. I'm sure as "Critical Theory" (without the identifier in the middle) is Marxist-Leninist doctrine.

I'm critical of this theory overall.

We have enough problem with people not thinking critically on about just about everything.

As someone raised in the Soviet Union I find this tragically recognizable. I'm sure as "Critical Theory" (without the identifier in the middle) is Marxist-Leninist doctrine. Critical thinking is not a theory. It is a method that uses skepticism, observation, remembrance, and willingness on the "thinker" to question his or her own assumptions and present knowledge. Humans have been using it for many thousands of years. As an example, in 2001: A Space Odyssey, when the hominid looks at the bone he is using to randomly break the other bones of a dead tapir (maybe out of boredom or he likes the feeling of banging on things), he thinks about the live tapirs grazing nearby and he connects his action, the dead carcass, and live tapirs realizing he can break the bones inside the live tapirs to kill them. Before that, he just assumed the tapers were not killable as he could not kill one with his bare fists. That's proto-critical thinking. In recent human history, other methods have been added like observation, induction and deduction, philosophy, logic, and empirical data to reach a conclusion about what is happening in and around us rather than relying on old, obsolete knowledge and magical thinking.

Yes. You're correct... which is why I made the distinction.
