He really doesnt. Thats why both, Shady and I were at odds with him over his moderation consistency in the past. Right from the start it was a major red flag when he perma-banned Arvid. I didnt always interact with the guy but I did enjoy his takes on topics apart fom Israel. Now Xel and Warren are gone too. Warren fine he has been banned previously quite a few times on other boards (he does that shit to himself) but Xel too..c'mon now..I cant look the other way when it comes to those two posters-especially when for the whole time JC was fine with Xel and Arvid for all those years and Im no fan of JC and didnt need perma-banning Im actually mulling over whether I should stay over there or not. It would be good if Abbey or Kinder started a board. It's funny, the 3 that would go against the left, that were on the left, are banned. I could find a reason to ban them. Just depends what rules he wants one given day. Here's the truth..forums are a dying art. I went to discord, snap chat, etc. Chat rooms used to be big, it died. You're all basically are on MySpace, while everyone else went to Facebook That's how I got back in touch with moosenugget *remember him?* He went to discord. Why? You can have live discussions, most people who run forums won't ban you and make the rules clear. You can actually have debates on the Go. Forums are dying out. Most people wanna hate me, reality is, you all know the community is toxic. Did Warren and xel deserved to be banned? A massive list of people deserved it. Monkeys is also sort of a creeper. Reminds me of that lonely island song "the creep." He can't moderate, the next issue is, even if Abbey or kinder created a board, most won't go. They'll stay on v1. That's the reality. People can hate me all day, please do actually, but Monkeys modding is so inconsistent it's insane If you all ever want to go to a board, gameboy would be your only option. There will always be niche places. I think Reddit etc is still popular? Yeah maybe I will sign up to Gameboy's forum eventually if I decide to go from Monkeys. I can just post here too for the political subjects Why do you think Monkeys is a sort of creeper? I liked Moose even though we were on opposite sides, I think his last username he went by was Egg-something or rather? Last time he posted he was elected to the Greens I think? |

Yeah, that is bad behavior for someone's 'living room', sadly. And there have been more than a few other things in threads that would have been appropriate for a boys' locker room. I'm no fan of JC, but I thought FM would be a bit more proper and responsive when looking at offensive content. Additionally, there is such an overabundance of just plain nonsense, parody threads, unintelligent back-and-forth ad hominem exchanges and such... it is difficult to find anything of value, wading through all of the other stuff. I sometimes just scroll through recent posts just to see if there is anything I care to engage with. It's gotten to be more of a supermarket tabloid rag than a proper newspaper or magazine. I actually posted my frustration on the open board once, and FM actually responded and said that if I posted a topic, to tag him and he would happily interact with me. I did that, and he never even responded.
If we could get a few more of the better posters to come over here, this could become a genuine discussion board. Fingers crossed... Yeah, I remember this. He was just being polite, I wouldnt take it to heart. Quite a few threads go unanswered for various reasons You remember! Wow! Yes, it was a lengthy article on climate change. It's something that is important to me, I love the natural world. I do like it here, though. I still think of this as my home board. But I haven't deleted over there, and probably won't. Like Marilyn, I like to communicate with the posters I care about. Yeah- this board is fine and monkeys is ok too. It is what it is. I wish this place would change so “guest” posts weren’t allowed. It’s starting to get a little whiney and toxic in here. But other than that, its a good way to stay connected to folks that leave imdb1. |

Oh, spitfire926f , I just thought about white for a while, and looked out my window at what I call my woodland niche - I have blooming 'drops of snow', an early spring bulb that my Dad transplanted from the land he grew up on to my garden years ago. They are so delicate, and they always remind me of him and my grandmother. They do need to be in the ground, but amazingly, my dogs never bother them. I will try to attach a photo from online, I can't do my own, I never figured that out, lol!  And this would be so pretty in a garden, I think this one can be found on Amazon...  And this is the one that is in my woodland niche...  I love those! I always thought an angel and gargoyle theme would be cool. Funny you should mention gargoyles - a friend of mine, who founded a 501c3 cat rescue organization, has, from time to time, living gargoyles on her roof! Sometimes the cats in the shelter break loose, and two in particular like to perch on her roof and watch all the comings and goings! It's really funny, and the cats seem to love it. |

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that some of the more reasonable and moderate posters have either stopped posting or post less often than previously. JC did keep the board clean for the most part and reigned in the majority of the nonsense and poor behaviour, FM doesn’t appear to have the will or backbone to do the same so the board has devolved and will likely continue on that path. Well, Koda rules! Yards are for dogs, and my dogs have their area, and their 'patrol path', with a smaller fenced area for in-ground shade plants. They love to bark at the goats, who tend to taunt the dogs now and again. They head-butt each other and put on a show. The goats' pasture adjoins the front yard. And I'd give anything to have deer show up in my backyard; they used to, then neighbors moved in to the south of me and do target practice a lot. So the deer stay away, and I don't blame them. There are a bunch of flowers that are deer-resistant; I know I've seen articles. And you need some containers for flowers, deer usually leave those alone. And there are things that you can spray on, environmentally friendly but discourage deer. My yard is my escape from the world. I don’t have to worry about deer, but raccoons and possums and skunks. 🦨 was walking my dog super early one morning, before dawn, and he wanted to sniff around some bushes at a neighbors house so I let him. Little did I know there was a little skunk family in there. When I realized it, I pulled my dog away and started hauling ass down the road and the skunk started chasing us. We didn’t get sprayed, thank goodness. My friend with the Great Dane? That poor dog got skunked in the mouth! Aaaargh! He couldn't eat for a few days, poor guy! He finally recovered, but I think he now knows the difference between a skunk and a cat. He loves the cats and plays with them, they groom his face... but that black kitty with the white stripe didn't want to play with him! I have possums, too, but they steer clear of the dogs' yard. |

There's trolling and then there's just being a POS. May I ask which poster did that to you? I love it here. I consider it my home board. When I need a break from V1's nonsense I'll just post here, it doesn't matter if anyone even responds, it's cathartic. And Ant and GardenGirl are two of my very favorite people online, and they're here. Molly has been around, too, and she's great. I've always enjoyed your posts, so welcome. If you post I'll be sure to respond  I post less about politics than other stuff here, generally, but maybe we can get some decent poli discussions going without all the *derp derp, Trump, derp derp Biden* stuff. They were permabans too, but got reversed when there was a mass reversal. I can't speak to Arvid's ban on V1, that was before I got there. I always liked Arvid, but I also stayed out of the ME threads. I liked Xel too, but he just crazier and crazier with that subject. I'm glad that subject has died down on V1 TBH. |
