I bought a package of sliced salami, but figured I was not going to eat it right away, so I put it in the freezer. Decided to make a sandwich so I took it out of the freezer and into the refrigerator.
My question is, is it okay to put it back in the freezer? I thought I heard that it's not good to refreeze food.

If the package was vacuum-sealed, there was really no need to freeze it in the first place, TBH.
That said... it's salami and won't have a long life in the fridge and re-freezing it will end up with lost flavor.
Salami is one of those meats that you need to eat within a day or two of breaking the seal no matter what

Although I normally manage to finish it off within a week after I've opened it.

The other day, one of the stores that carries a pretty good selection of imported food actually had vac-packed mortadella, prosciutto, and salami so I bought enough to make a couple of Italian subs. Sadly provolone is never anywhere to be found so I had to use "American" cheese, but each sub was delicious. Each cost about $15 to make, but it was worth it.
