I found this interesting article a few days ago and thought it might be a good subject here!

I found Emma Thompson's opinion especially interesting:

English actress Emma Thompson (Nanny McPhee, Harry Potter, Love Actually) is openly atheist: “The reason that I am an atheist in so far as the world religions that we have, is because I have seen them oppress so many women for so long. So, to me, religion is the history of the oppression of women.”

I had known about Brad Pitt, Ian McKellen, George Clooney and Morgan Freeman, but others I didn't know about.

I'm not in the least bit surprised that the fictional character of House is an atheist.

Could you imagine him confronting a group of clueless bible bashers on his doorstep?

He'd probably feel so good afterwards he could skip his next dose of Vicodin.

Sure but religion is just an excuse. You do know this right? If it wasnt religion, women would have been oppressed anyway. Social progress is very slow unfortunately

One can say everyone was oppressed by kings and emperors

But yeah I agree on House haha. The character would be an atheist. Great show. Not sure I agreed with the whole Wilson dying arc but whatever
