I never understood the rationale behind arresting people for buying sex from a prostitute when dumping a ton more money on 3 dates in the blind hope of having sex is OK. I think girls who go on three dates then don't put out should have to declare the costs of those dinners, bottles of wine, and movie tickets as income. 
Prosecuting the johns makes even less sense when you're not prosecuting prostitutes.

You might even be surprised to find out that Medicare was supposed to be for everyone (rolled out over time) which would have had the US with full UHC by 1980 IIRC.
Unfortunately, the insurance companies came up with their own idea and pushed a lot of money Nixon's way (and into the coffers of unions).
