Ordinarily, I'd post at least the important bits of the article but there weren't any. Newt is whining that the Commie Democrat government is too weak to guard against foreign threats, something we've seen and heard from Republicans since... forever.

Newt doesn't go into what "woke" thinking led to the government's apparently failed response to a balloon, of course. If you came here looking for a specific criticism of "wokeness", you're going to walk away unsatisfied and confused. He's using the word like a toddler using a new swear word and with the same toddler logic: "Woke stuff is bad ergo bad stuff is woke." 

I say if Gingrich is throwing it out there like that, it's crossed a certain threshold. The Gingrich Horizon, if you will. It's the point where you safely assume anybody who uses the word doesn't even know what it means.

It's supposed to refer to SJW types, but yeah, there are some overzealous righties who just throw it out to refer to anyone who disagrees with them.

He's the pulse of the GOP as far as I'm concerned.

The ridiculous right-wing we've experienced in modern days can be traced back to the crumbs underneath the nails on his grubby paws. If he doesn't know what woke means, nobody does.
