And they say the wheels of American justice grind slow. It took Mexican authorities over a year just to decide to bring charges.
Alec Baldwin will be charged with 2 counts of involuntary manslaughter in 'Rust' shooting

There was so much fuckery afoot on that set--crew walk offs, bad hires, flouncing of safety protocols--I'm glad someone is being held accountable. I am SHOCKED it's Bladwin himself, but as the head guy, he let everything go to pot I guess. The chick in charge of armory who brought live rounds on to the set to screw around with should be charged also, accessory after the fact if there is such a thing for involuntary manslaughter. I'm on the fence about what the punishment should be. I think he's already paid out to the family. Prison wouldn't serve any purpose for either of them, seeing as it wasn't intentional. But I think several years of some kind of serious community service related to gunshot victims is in order.

But - in the end - it's Baldwin's fault as he ignored every safety regulation when he picked up that weapon and pulled the trigger.
I hope that fucker gets the max prison time and that he has the worst "Mexican Prison" experience possible.

I don't think prison would really serve any purpose, but I also probably wouldn't do more than shrug at that smug asshole doing time, either. I think him giving weekly lectures on the importance of gun safety at high schools across America for the next couple years would be more just, but that might be punishing his audience.
