As I watch my family strike out on foot across the fields into driving rain and gathering darkness, my wife holding each child’s hand, our new year plans in ruins, while I do what I can to make our dead car safe before abandoning it a mile short of home, full of luggage on a country lane, it occurs to me not for the first time that if we are going to save the planet we will have to find another way. Because electric cars are not the answer.

Maybe it's simply that the manufacturer is bad at their job as opposed to the concept being bad at its core....

Definitely someone for Abbey to admire though: "My EV was a piece of shit therefore all EVs are shit and should be banned! Waaah!"

But not any more. For some reason he gave up on EVs and went back to gas. My guess? GOPeer pressure

THAT was a hybrid. A great blend of the 2 technologies........and it worked VERY well. I sold it to some friends though, who could benefit from that tech much more than I was at the time. I put 25,000 miles on in 6 years. They sailed past 80,000 in about a year. See how the 'payback' worked for them even more than it did for me? And that was as gas was climbing almost to $5/gallon.

I'm waiting on my 2nd Prius.........but production levels are down so it's been months and months thus far.

I am not for banning electric cars. But I am against using Govt force to mandate them. Big difference in my mind.
